Jim Stynes - Inspirational speeches.

Post: # 1015503Post Calais »

Hey guys, sorry this doesn't relate to STKFC at all but just wanted to ask a quick question and I thought I'd ask here before I get serious about it and tell anyone.

I've seen on the Jim Stynes BIO that he does inspirational speeches through the Reach foundation about living with Cancer and what not to Schools, treatment centers and so on.
What I wanted to ask is If I wanted to get him to do a small 2 minute speech at my School Graduation next month what would be the best way of going about it? Who do I ask, Get into contact with? ETC

Also, I dont want to offend anyone by asking if he could come, especially living with his illness, why would he come to a stupid year 12 grad and do a speech? But hey I thought I'd give it a go anyway.

Sorry if I'm asking in the wrong place but as School Captain I've got to do some work here and there so I'm just trying to make it as good as possible.

Thanks 8-)

I do a bit of work with Reach & hearing Jim is a life changing experience.

Good luck, I hope your school can get to hear from the great man.

Had jim come to our school back in year 12 ... a decade ago now

Has an amazing ability to open students up, instill perspective and motivate.

Good luck getting him, every student there will remember the experience for the rest of their lives.

I got an email. They replied within 8 hours or so. Pretty impressed. Not good news though :

"Thanks for your email and for sharing your thoughts.

As you can imagine Jim receives many requests to participate in community events. Unfortunately, it’s not possible for him to fulfill requests such as this, at this time.

Wishing you luck with the graduation"

Pretty shattered but totally understanding I guess. Would of been great!

Bad luck Calais. Jim Stynes tweeted yesterday that he is overseas at the moment having some radical treatment that is appparently going well, so perhaps he will be out of action for a while. Maybe there is someone else Reach can put you in touch with - Jules Lund? (who made his doco)
