Re: Assistant coaches
Does this mean that Brian Royal is now a permanent assistant?
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.
I didn't see the Pattison delisting coming.
That means we have lost King and Pattison from our ruck stocks in one year, without any replacement.
Also, Gardiner is one year older (and one year slower) and Mcgrath (a ruckman) is delisted.
Perhaps this foreshadows the end of our two traditional ruckmen setup.
Gardi Mcevoy Kosi Stanley (and Blake) will share the load I assume.

harvey, berbakov and kingsley are the full time aissistants with kind as a part time as far as I see it. Good choice in hudson, very highly rated at the pies.

1/ However Ben and Stanley are both one year older.FQF wrote:I didn't see the Pattison delisting coming.

.
2/ Gaertner, if not later delsted, was also used at times in the ruck last year.
3/ Premature to say without any replacement as we are yet to have the various drrafts including Rookie draft.

Kingsley - coached alongside Mark Williams and Dean Laidley (both excellent coaches). Been involved at a successful club for a long time and played in a premiership. Good pick up.
Hudson - premiership player, coached under Matthews and Malthouse. Can't get much better experience than that.
Great to see us picking up some talented quality people from other clubs, and Hudson should bring some IP with him which is always useful.

Nothing to fear there... Buckley is the forward coach.gringo wrote:I hope ross isn't just raiding collingwoods coaches as pay back for his inside knowledge going their way.
If hudson was the pies forward coach, he may actually be a mental defective.

add in the fact that hudson has developed a very good batch of kids at the pies in the past two years.Legendary wrote:Kingsley - coached alongside Mark Williams and Dean Laidley (both excellent coaches). Been involved at a successful club for a long time and played in a premiership. Good pick up.

Anyone else notice a pattern with our assistant coaching appoints?
Geelong win flag we get Leigh Tudor.
Collingwood win flag we get Paul Hudson.
The only miss in thte pattern was getting someone from Hawthorn when they won the flag.
Can see some refinement in our gameplan with IP from Collingwood together with an injection of pace from Stanley, Miles, Steven & Smith.

I like this:
The Saints have also secured former Collingwood Assistant Coach Paul Hudson as Development Manager, after two years service with the 2010 Premiers (2009 - 2010).
A member of Hawthorn’s 1991 Premiership side, Hudson played a total of 245 games in his 13 year AFL career, before beginning his coaching career with TAC Cup side Gippsland Power. Winning the Premiership in his first year at the Club in 2005, Hudson spent two years with Gippsland before extending his coaching experience at Brisbane Lions from 2007 - 2008.

We need that big time, as I dont think sexton did much, pretty happy he is gone actually.Solar wrote:add in the fact that hudson has developed a very good batch of kids at the pies in the past two years.Legendary wrote:Kingsley - coached alongside Mark Williams and Dean Laidley (both excellent coaches). Who said he has gone? Havent they only mentioned line coaches. Otherwise we have also got rid of Royal and Danny Ryan as well as Danny Sexton.St Lenny wrote:We need that big time, as I dont think sexton did much, pretty happy he is gone actually.Solar wrote:add in the fact that hudson has developed a very good batch of kids at the pies in the past two years.Legendary wrote:Kingsley - coached alongside Mark Williams and Dean Laidley (both excellent coaches).
