How are you going to handle pies supporters at work tomorrow?
close the door and don't disturb.....
laugh it off...
take it on the chin and just stand there for ages and listen attentively to their expert commentary of where you went wrong..

Was dreading going back to work, but have been cheered up by Stephen Fry (see other post).
Received some quite nasty and abusive texts from a Collingwood supporter from work during the last quarter.....it's not an excuse but I KNOW he was by then completely off his face. Has a drinking and a gambling problem.
I don't mind the true Collingwood supporters, what I hate is know-alls who support other clubs like Essendon, Melbourne and West Coast who have f^&k-all chance of making a Grand Final in the near future.
There numerous Essendon supporters at my work. If any of them have a go at the Saints I might say "Well I s'pose we now share the mantle with you....you let the 'Pies win 20 years ago."
My brother also suggested this for 'Pies supporters: "Why are you going to sack a Premiership coach in a year's time?"

In honour of those who went before, in the dark and desperate years.

aagh.
My boss is a collingwood supporter. I don't think she'll be too bad. She's actually very considerate of people's feelings and she'll know I'm hurting.
Its the customers I'm not looking forward to. Bound to be some that will be wearing the colours and enjoying their moment.

Shattered dreams are just opportunities for improvement. Live and learn, fail and try harder. 2011 beckons.

Ah the joys of currently being a stay at home mum, thank goddness for that because my odd owner of the company I worked for is Collingwood.
Last year I had my supervisor who is a Geelong supporter. Some of you may remember my thread I posted 12 months ago. I walked into work, had one of those small soft footysl stuck on the white piping that holds all the network computer cables. That was meant to be a goal post after them getting a goal that hit the post. They also had the company mascot dressed as the goal umpire and had two flags.
There were Geelong posters up around my area, the premiership poster, the team poster of them with the cup and every news clipping about the GF he could find. It was the worse day I have ever had at work and all everyone could do was laugh at me while I broke down as I could not control my emotions.
It was so cruel and I am really glad this year I am a stay at home mum because I couldn't go thru another few weeks of torment. The Geelong stuff went on for weeks and it was all at my expense.
So Good luck for tomorrow guys, I really feel for you, I think its best to ignore and try not to show to much emotion, but I know that is easier said than done thou.

I am excited to stay at St Kilda and this is a great result for the Club and all our fans. I’m proud to be part of the Saints and am pleased to be playing football with the Clubâ€

Not many supporters of AFL period, at work. No Pies supporters, all the neutrals were on my side...but I'll be forced to talk about it, as everyone knows I'm a footy tragic. What can I say...we were crap, they were great, roll my eyes, stuff my hands in my pockets and shuffle off back to my desk to lay low for another 51 weeks???

The whole company is a joke, the human resources manager left in april 2009, so that was at the start of the season. NEVER replaced her and she played favorites which I never seemed to be in her favor.I Love Peter Kiel wrote:DSG that is workplace bullying
Was there a human resources manager you could speak to or was he/she in on the 'joke'?
I still believe they don't have one. There was no one to go to and I am sure if she had been around I would have been told that I would have done the same if the saints had won. I would have been told to suck it up pretty much. The boss who I could have gone to thought it was funny as, he was a hawthorn supporter. I ended up resigning only a couple of weeks later when I was not given 2 days off to attend a family funeral up in Canberra. I took the 2 days off and they didn't pay me.
IF the saints had of won, I would have rubbed it in a little of course but I wouldn't be slamming down peoples throats because the hurt of losing is bad enough let alone people going overboard and going out of their way to hurt you.
Back in 2005 after we lost to Sydney in the prelim, I was left a St Kilda dummy on my desk, people thought it was so funny, this torment continued on for weeks every time we lost a final. It was over the top and I never got the last laugh. They played on my passion and love for the Saints and knew it would upset me.
I would love to name the company I tell you what because they have a strong hold in this state with school clothing and I was treated like utter s*** in the end.

I sure hope so, I forgot to mention I was pregnant too last year during the finals and still I was paid out on. The stress of going to work and then telling me how I am stepping away from my duties and the company does not accept me taking two days off to attend a funeral interstate all while I was pregnant. You can see why I resigned, unfortunately I had to stick it out for another 4 weeks as I had been there a while and needed to give a months noticed... So glad to be at home now with my kids.I Love Peter Kiel wrote:DSG I believe in Karma. These cruel acts will rebound on these people in future. Please stay in touch. This forum can really help.

Wow DSG that sounds horrible!
Not too different from my workplace. Their favourite game each year is lets see if we can make the Saints fan cry , especially when Harvs retired after we lost in the finals, when we lost to the Cats and I am sure today it will be just as bad. The thing that makes it the worst is it doesnt come from fans of those clubs. Just fans of other teams
Heads up Saints, I know its hard but screw them I am not going to let them see me cry today

We have a few filth supporters. My boss is very considerate and you can discuss things with him. H ewill leave me alone, but I have others who will get in my face but I will just tell them to f*** off.
The worst is an inlaw, already has caused a massive family blue after they won.
My wife and kids knew he is a tosser but the prick was calling at 5 am Sunday morning.
Ths good thing is now I dont need to speak to hime again
