Should have taken Judd instead of Ball!

Post: # 1008024Post barks4eva »

Probably cost us three premierships already!

Butterss wanted Judd, Thomas wanted Ball!

Thomas had the final say, but I blame Butterss for allowing Thomas to be in such a position to begin with!

They set us up for a decade of sustained failure!

The single biggest draft bonanza in AFL history and still no premiership!

Even Hawthorn, four years after their mini draft bonanza won a flag!

Our list has never been as good as what is was in 2004/2005, we had the premiership list, the envy of all and pissed it all up against wall!

Now we have a great coach but not enough cattle to quite get the job done!

Our list is nowhere as good as what it was in 2004/2005!
Not selecting Judd has cost us big time!

Too much left to too few, Lenny, Goddard and Riewoldt carry this football team!

Throw in Judd and abracadabra we'd probably have three premierships already!

Even recently not taking Jack Riewoldt instead of Armitage is another blunder which is already costing us!

Absolutely shattered, the biggest draft bonanza in history and still no premiership to show for it TEN YEARS on!

This trade period coming up is the most important for a long time because unless we pull some rabbits out of the hat we'll be sliding faster than Mel Gibson!

Probably right, but Ball was a very good player for our club don't forget.

Agree with everything you say Barks.

But we're talking about St.Kilda here.

Another opportunity awaits!

Best not too think about what-ifs, it drives you crazy.

For all we know, Judd could have been wrecked by OP and Ball would have been a premiership player for the Eagles.

Apropos of not much my money would be on Ball to finish his career with more premiershops than Judd!! It's funny how things turn out.

BTW, with the full benefit of hindsight, of course we should have taken Judd. But they both seemed fairly equally blessed with talent back in 2001, and Judd seemed to be the more injury-prone of the two.

What if we had retained Ian Stewart?

Yes, probably has cost us about four premierships all up, but I don't think Thomas had anything to do with that one?

Both, as it happened, would have left to get where they wanted to go. So what's your point?

Surely he was involved with the Russell Greene trade!?! How many premierships are we up to now?

You know, if it wasn't for St.Kilda. I would never have learned about juice diets and nail beds.

Guys keep it real, it's only four premierships lost if we include Ian Stewart!

And also, to be fair, we can only blame three of them on Grant Thomas!

Seriously Barks, how many times are you going to raise this? I know it, you know it, you have posted it maybe 20 times. Not much point being a Harry Hindsight.

Why not focus on the wins? Gwilt at 70+, Fisher at 50+ etc

Or focus on the future and how we can get it done. Luke Miles - now there is a win don't you think? Can't remember where we got him, but that guy is going to be a real quality player for us.

Do yourself a favour and stop tormenting yourself (and us).

Great idea, I'll take it up with the board!

Given that I'm usually always right, they'd be fools not to listen!
