the "Inches' in the last minutes
OK I will say first up Eddie Mcguire annoys me with his brashness-( although in saying that he has seemed to curb himself in the last couple of weeks)
but thought I'd listen to this spot from his radio program
and it is a sample of the Strength of the Saints and how the inches went our way - almost-

His comments about Lenny just proves that Lenny is an outright big occasion champion. We have a few players who can pull that last bit of something from somewhere deep down when all is lost, I would say Lenny, Schneids, Roo, BJ are big game players and I think that is what will get us over the line. I don't think the Pies have that kind of player, as they rely on lots of possessions by the team and lots of pressure on the opposition, but when it comes the crunch, I don't think they have the individuals whio are prepared to put their heads between a boot and the footy.

Have a look at the last play. BJ third man up flipped it over the back to Lenny heading straight to our forward 50. Jolly put a finger on it in mid air and forced it back into the contest - siren blew - game of inches drawn!
I'm loving this - underdogs at 3 to 1, grand final experience in our favor and Pies over confident. Go Saints - I'm loading up!

Two minutes left, Collingwood by a point, Dawes marks on 50, he shoots for goal but it falls short, BJ's spoil looks like going through for a point but it lands just wide of the point post.
At the time the commentators were suggesting that it would've been better for us had it been a point because it would've given us possession.
Footy is thrown back in, Sidebottom blazes away, Gwilt runs with the flight, marks on the line and clears D50.
Lenny goes up the field and kicks a point which means, had BJ's spoil gone through for a point, we would've lost by a point.
Game of inches.
