Could Stanley be the ultimate x-factor???
RL is toying with the idea of bringing in Stanley instead of big ben.
The positives:
Pace to burn, can ruck, take a mark. He could run Jolly off his feet. Swapping with Koise and Blake adds a real unknown to worry the pies.
negatives:
Lacks hardness & expereince. How would he cope withthe big day?
While Mcenvoy is more experience, better mark (atm) and better ruck, he is not mobile enough to go with Jolly...He will get better over the yrs, with more expereince and fitness, but I'm a little concerned about how we will perform....
interesting choice....

He was in for structural reasons during the year. He obviously could not keep up with the tempo and physicality of AFL and would be a complete and utter liability in a grand final.
Don't get me wrong; he looks like he'll be a gun in 3 or 4 years, but you don't play a lanky, underdeveloped ruck/forward with about 6 AFL games to his name and win a premiership.

He has done very little (just to put it mildly)...kaos theory wrote:RL is toying with the idea of bringing in Stanley instead of big ben.

In fact IMO he has done flower all to deserve a spot in the GF rematch...
I say NO WAY!!!!
Yes, he is a prospect, but he has shown very little in his 7 games this year....
I just loved Jack Steven's game against Geelong, were he popped up and kicked 3 goals and I hope he is considered as well as Big Mac
Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!

I think Ross was just trying to not tell the pies straight away it McEVOY for Gardiner.
He also mentioned Stevens, Armitage and Geary.
He made them all sound like stars
He wants to keep them guessing as long as possible

"At the end of the day, a coach and a fitness adviser doesn't make a good football team, they're not the only ones who got us to two Grand Finals." Lenny Hayes. 27/9/2011.
I don't necessarily rule it out.
On Saturday we ended up robbing Peter to pay Paul. This is to say that Eddie was totally ineffectual in drawing Maxwell away from his position, IMO, this was his main role in the game along with forward pressure. The end result was Gilbert was thrown forward so that Maxwell was made to be accountable.
This week will be different, The pies will bring in goldsack for leon, Goldsack to play a negating role on Fisher. This effectively means that we will need Gilbert down back hence releasing Maxwell. If stanley was to come in for Eddie the Pies suddenly have a big problem as a big target cannot be left alone.
Don't forget that the Pies have planned for Kosi to play forward and their structure was stuffed completely once we had a mobile big man, no offence to Gardi, and not saying Kosi is hugely mobile. What I took out of Saturday was that Jolly had no answer to Kosi. Kosi placed his body in positions that Jolly did not like and in the end Jolly resorted to trying to protect space rather than go for the ball. A Kosi/Blake combination could work again. The choice would be either to have Ben or Stanley as the other tall forward target.
Hate to be a selector!
