Re: Great Start but remember

We have a great start to the season, we are on top with a whopping percentage and everything looks great. However we need to remember it is only round 5 and a lot can happen over the next 17 weeks. We need to remember in 04 we won 10 in a row and didn't finish top 2 and did not make the Grand Final...

I think McQualter is one of the key instigators of the immense pressure that we have been able to apply over the last few weeks. I have watched the Port game a number of times since and noticed that almost everytime Port were squeezed as they were coming out of their backline, Mini was the one pushi...

We need to match up Robbie Gray also. He was very good against Hawthorn last week and provided a better lead up small forward option than Ebert. He is great overhead for a small bloke and has off the mark speed which could worry some of our defenders. After watching them first hand on Saturday after...

You are tough crowd. He wins a time trial and you say big deal, but better to be first than middle or last. If Judd wins it you think, wow, what an athlete, no wonder he is so good. If Fish wins it no one plays on 3km grounds any more. Leigh Fisher - life Saints supporter, top bloke, 50 club games ...

The word on Walters is that he not quick enough to play the role most think he is suited.... Two more observations were that this club wouldn't have touched Sidebottom with a pole....too one paced and would be shown up at AFL level. Also, there was an audible laugh around the room when Leigh Brown ...

Cornelius interviewed terribley and it turned a lot of clubs off That maybe, but I really can't see any reason for a club to go off a player because of that... If he can kick and run and play good football, surely that is the main criteria... Just how well did Nicky Winmar go with interviews??? and...

I feel for Jarryd Allen then as if this is the case, the club aren't showing a lot of confidence in his development.

He looks a lot more multi-dimensional than McEvoy. I was also extremely impressed by the videos on You Tube. He seems to read the play really well, can tap well to advantage and looks equally as comfortable in the air as he does on the ground. We all know this was a tall draft so I think he would ha...

Smith looks very good in the vision....clean hands, quick, beautiful delivery and he looks like he can win his own ball. I am more than happy with this selection.

Inside word from draft day

Just spoke to a mate who was sitting on an opposition clubs recruiting table and he said that the particular clubs recruiters were extremely suprised when they heard Tom Lynch's name being read out at 13. He said it was the major suprise of the draft. The majority of recruiters saw him in the 20-30 ...

I also liked the look of Ash Smith who played on the back flank for the Stingrays.

He has a beutiful penetrating kick and looks to have an AFL ready body.

Is anyone watching the TAC Grand Final??? This kid has had 27 disposals, 11 inside 50s, and kicked 8.0....and its only 3/4 time. Kevin Sheehan said he should be a first round selection but hasn't been one of the big names Watts, Rich etc etc. If he is still around by Pick 13 then we should definatel...

That was the best tribute I have ever seen.

It's a pity that Doc couldnt make it as he has recently had another stroke but I know he will be watching with such pride at how impressive the 16 year old kid he called Rodney has become.

Well done Rob, you truly make me proud to be a Sainter!!!

Lonegan is not a key forward....he is a backman that only kicks goals because the delivery is so good.

Geelong wouldnt give up Hawkins.

There aren't alot of available key forwards out there and we could really get two great years out of Hall.

Of course it is a serious thread. As I said, the Bulldogs are already talking to him, why shouldn't we at least look into it. Our forward line just isn't fucntioning correctly at present and a short time fix like Hall could allow time for Jarred Allen to come on. He looked great at the end of the ye...

Before you all shoot me down, I think we should look at Barry Hall. The word is that his time at Sydney is over and he wants to come back to Melbourne. The Bulldogs are very keen on him and are talking to his managment and I think we should at least make some inquiries. He already has a relationship...

I disagree.....retiring a jumper doesn't make anyobdy happy. A gesture like Richmond does with honouring their captain with the Number 17 would be far more appropriate. Many said that there was only ever going to be one Darrell Baldock. I think we all agree however that Plugger did his famous #4 jus...
