Newnes and Montagna.

Also, Hickey showed some improvement.

Re: Ross tonight

That was far and away his best game of his short career. Hopefully it's a real springboard for the rest of 2013 (and beyond).

He has got great hands in close, just hope he can build his tank up - out midfield was totally out of gas in the last term.

Re: Nat Fyfe 2013 trade period

Freo aren't anywhere near the cap.

It's been widely suggested that they will have enough cap space to be in the race to woo Buddy away from Hawthorn.

Re: One posiitive

There are positives tis year. But lack of pressure results in open play and high scoring games. So our score against the Dons is not one of them. Stanley's ability to play as a key back is definitely a big plus this year. Armo has improved is another. I thought Armo had a frustrating game. Needs to...

When will people realise that it is easy to get the ball when nobody gives a crap about you and know you are an awful disposer?
Why CJ?

I think Murdoch and Webster are almost certainties to play a game this year. SW seems to love Websters games in particular.

Surprised Curren hasn't already been elevated to the main list.

Re: Gram V's Roberton

Grams ability to sell candy was outstanding but his kicking although 'long' was often sh*thouse. This was the biggest misconception about Gram right throughout his career - that he was a "good kick". He was always a long kick, but never an accurate or reliable one. Roberton is looking rea...

Not sure what happened.

He was disappointing in the first two rounds but I wouldn't have thought they would have dropped him as a result of that.

Re: Next Week

Only 1 change???? These changes should be made: Out: Blake, Maister, Gilbert and Newnes In: Kosi, Lee, Ray and Simpkin With Schneider moving into the 21 and Milera Sub. They may also want to consider occasionally running Saad through the midfield. Gilbert and Newnes should definitely stay in. Gilbe...

Re: What I learned from tonight's game

What I learned: 1) Stanley's best position right now is as a key defender 2) Siposs isn't ready to adopt his new role. His role needs to be reviewed - possibly move back to half-forward. 3) Clint Jones is in our best 22. Best tagger, runs all day and one of our best ball winners 4) Sam Gilbert's mid...

Re: What I learned from tonight's game

1. Gilbo is close to our best wingman. His run and carry is so valuable in a team of predominately plodders 2. Jones is the fittest bloke at the club and runs harder than anyone. He also knows how to find the ball in traffic. He is in our best 18 3. Stanley is a Defender, didn't look like getting i...

Watters can't coach.... pfffftt... what an emotional knee-jerk reaction....... what are you expecting?? Premierships..... The Tigers have so much more talent (from early draft picks) that us - I thought we were SO BRAVE tonight. Agree 100%. Anyone that has delusions that we can compete with the big...

Re: Why we can win

3 years ago we had the best backline in the comp. Since Watters came in, well, let's be honest, its been sub-standard. Hopefully we get fisher and dempster back. It has been sub-standard for the most part. But we also haven't had a full back, whereas we did have Zac in the RL era. I'm not that hope...

Re: Comparison with Geelong 1998

In the nine years leading up to 1998, Geelong had done this: - We've had a successful era but it could easily take ten years before we get to experience that again. - If it takes ten years then our drafting in the last few years doesn't really matter - it's what happens in the next few years that w...

Re: The guys who played well

I thought Armo, Geary and Lenny all fought hard. But none of them really caused damage with their ball use, except Armo at times. That's why Dal will continue to get tagged - because he's our one mid that can be damaging with his kicking and vision. Milera was very good (except for that fumble). Sta...

Re: St Kilda - The forgotten team

yep agree re Blake, Kosi and Jones - its kid time now and fast. what scares me as we wait say 2 yrs to get near 50 games into some of these players is the lack of A Grade quality. when we drafted Roo, Ball, Kosi (?) even Dal we knew we knew in there some stars were brewing.........now in Newnes, Ar...
