Roo did spill a heap of the pill last night, though Bolton has always played well on him. Again, without being an expert, I put it down to a lack of a pre season and Roo still having some rust in his joints to shake off which may well take a few more rounds.

Excellent post and some good questions. I think with Xavier - poor management in his first few years at the club. He put on a lot of bulk and it put too much pressure on his muscles, which were not strengthened enough .... and the hamstrings became a problem. Once you've had a few of the same soft ...

Sainters...start our engines!

Hi All, I woke up today super excited that the season proper begins for us this Saturday night. Regardless of how you feel 09 will be for us, let's charge our glasses, dust of the match day guernsey and train our vocal cords for the beginning of what should be another roller coaster ride. CARN THE S...

I'm am disgusted by some of the self-slandering I read on this forum. A practice match...get over it. Round 1 hasn't begun yet, wait till then before you reach for your razor blades. I just don't get this NAB Cup emphasis! I'm convinced there are some supporters who almost enjoy sledging the club at...

Damn Right!

Some people are just incapable of being happy. We win two matches, they literally have nothing to say. We lose two, they come out swinging!

Last time Maxie did a calf was against the weagles I think. The commentary said he was suffering an "old man's injury" and not to expect him back anytime soon. He was back within two weeks.

As a matter of interest, when was the first Heritage round jumper? Was it 2003 (Candy stripe) for Burkies last game against tigers? Yep, that was it. We've had four over the course. My favourite has to be the 06 one, with the large white panel - that's probably why I'm a fan of the new clash jumper...

2004 Heritage Jumper

Hi All,

I'm keen to get my hands on a Saints 2004 Heritage Round jumper. I understand my chances are slim, as it's obviously rare as hens teeth, but if anyone is looking at selling one in the future, by all means let me know.

Cheers

Re: Sorry Everyone but we cant win it!!!

Just went through our list and i thought it was ok,but to be honest i dont think we can win the Flag. We will make the 8 and more than likely make the top 6 but when it comes to beating the likes of GELLONG OR HAWTHORN i think we are a fair way off them. Recuiting Farren Ray for me is just replacin...

Why Am I Not Worried?

Maybe because it was the NAB Cup? Maybe because a good portion of our best 22 were missing? Maybe because SOS was coaching? Maybe because we kicked 7 goals to their 2 in the second half? Maybe because I saw Goddard played some super football? Maybe because King and Gardy smashed the ruck contests? M...

Probably should have added to '04 semi final victory over the Swans at the G. Not only a good rebound from that massacre Brisbane gave us the week before, but being from Sydney and hating the Swans, always good wipe the smirk from those fickle supporters.

I'd throw Round 4 2005 v Melbourne in there. The Dees were undefeated atop the the ladder with a percentage greater than 150. We were without a number of our big name players including Riewoldt, Kosi and Harvey. Cam Bruce was running hot and was the early Brownlow favourite. Guerra layed a perfectl...

Classic Matches of the last five seasons

Since the 2004 season, we have had some absolute ripping victories. Here is my cream of the crop. 2004 Round 6 - Saints defeat Lions - The one point blockbuster was almost a bitter sweet victory due to the Aussie Jones behind, but still a darn fine match. 2005 Qualifying Final - Saints defeat Crows ...

It's refreshing to hear everyone enjoying the memory of that victory for what it was...a fantastic victory. I was expecting the usual rehash, "Essendon were under-manned, had Rama kicked the goal then top 4 was gone", etc. It was an amazing victory and that's how it should be remembered.

When I first read this title, I wondered if it was about something else. In the 1970s, I can remember having a badge that said "Red, White and Black". And sometimes I've seen people say "Red, Black and White". Is there one DEFINITIVE version of these colours? One clear statement...
