I think if they applied the rule consistently, the greater footy public would be outraged and demand some action. As it stands, they apply these rules inconsistently and insidiously and are allowed to get away with it, leaving a few teams reeling at huge suspensions and scratching their heads at biz...

Not sure I agree about Gram. I think he was very important to us last night and has been for a few weeks. He is generally a good 'go to' player and can usually be counted on to do something constructive with the ball. That said, I think the whole team has a problem with things like decision making a...

Re: Its down to 4 MATCHES

i really dont even see the point in making the finals we rnt gonna make it past the 1st round.. we give up to easy..we get out to a handy lead and then let the other team in. it will kill us come finals time (if we make it) We were narrowly beaten by a superb outfit, who are second on the ladder. I...

I think it depends on whether he thinks we're a chance for the flag next year - had we not begun to find some form I think he would retire at the end of this year. As it is we're starting to show some potential, and if Harvey thinks (and Lyon et al can convince him) we're a real chance for a premier...

I've just got my fingers crossed that Fraser hits the park with a bit of mongrel to him.

Another bag like last week would be very nice.

WIN/LOSS TONIGHT - what does it mean?

Apparently if we lose tonight, we're still a good chance for the 8, but our finals start in Melbourne instead of travelling to Subi to face WCE.

Anyone care to predict the likely outcomes for the next few games if we win or lose tonight?

The truth revealed...

AFL Chief Executive, Andrew 'Don' Demetriou, was last night interviewed at the Melbourne offices he uses as a front for various orphan smuggling operations. Smoking a fat cigar and chuckling incessantly, he appeared happy at the news that the St Kilda family had been whacked. 'They disrespected The ...

To whom it may concern. You should have bloody well known that an appeal in itself would do NOTHING. If we drop the matter now, then we must incur the wrath of an all-powerful AFL that feels both disrespected, and confident that the St Kilda football club is all talk and no action. The only suitable...

*Did the tribunal say they accepted Baker's version of events or they relied upon it in determining the case? I haven't seen a quote that said they believed everything he said. The tribunal accepted Baker's version of events as true. *What exactly did the Freo trainer say he saw? It was demonstrate...

Sorry to post and run last night folks. Eastern, I don't think I'm being selective necessarily, I originally posted the excerpt and the link yesterday while it was all still a bit up in the air about what was going on. The thread apparently got out of hand and got deleted, but along with it the orig...

Farmer: I was standing still and hit from the side

The original thread must have got out of hand with insults and been deleted - however I think the original point is an important one so I'm reposting it. Hopefully we got all the C-words out of our system first time round. From http://sportal.com.au/default.aspx/afl-news-display/baker-cops-seven-mat...

Under the new rules implemented last year, 'rough conduct' for Victorian teams can mean anything from running past an interstate player and not offering them a cup of tea, to failing to catch them when they trip over their shoelaces or faint of exhaustion. For interstate teams, 'rough conduct' means...

Penalty reduction is virtually useless. All those carry over points and bad-record loadings will still apply, so he'd still be out for the next 4 weeks even if it was reduced to 1 week for Farmer staggering into him drunkenly.

Overturned or bust I say.

No consolation prizes in training - either it's a goal or, well, it isn't.

Beautifully put Riewoldting. Unfortunately to comprehend it, you need a certain level of intelligence to process it any further than 'Farmer + bloody nose = lock up the Saints', so our friend from Freo simply won't be able to understand it. He and his mob have already demonstrated they have a very w...

Baker's previous poor record at the tribunal increased the severity of his penalty, without which he would have received a four match ban. He received a 40 per cent loading for previous suspensions totalling four matches in the past two seasons, as well as 127.5 demerit points carried over. http://w...

Matrix, no specific disrepect for Jesus but he seems to be labouring under the misapprehension that if player A gets hurt, and sustains injuries B, then somebody else C must go down for D number of weeks. He fails to realise that football (and the legal system, and hey, life in general) is not quite...

That wasn't reported in the paper here in Perth. Funny that. But if you seriously believe that Baker was suspended because the AFL favoured Fremantle as an interstate team then you have far bigger issues to sort through. The AFL has a fixed agenda to make happy headlines in the 'other' states. Perh...

Well do you always take the position of your fellow Anchors? For God's sake mate, perhaps YOU are wrong? Ever considered that? Baker ran off on a dummy lead and stopped to steal Farmer's momentum. Farmer was not smart enough to figure it out, ran into the back of Baker and came off worse. His fault,...
