Re: Mores the pity.
I reckon it's a good thing. Something that really stood out for me was that in the second half of the '97 season we got a great run with the umpires because we were just considered the better side, playing better football. We started to get most of the 50/50 decisions. I remember marvelling that thi...

Aren't we paying about 90% of the salary cap?
What do we expect to happen against well run clubs paying 100% of the cap and recruit mature players for the now?

Re: Saints fans fuming over free kick count
I am sick of being bent over by city hall and copping it meekly. Just listened to this post read out on '2 Guys 1 Cup' AFL Round 2 podcast. Will Andersen concerned that Con Gorozidis may be your real name.... http://www.omnycontent.com/d/playlist/1127a421-54fd-4b47-91d5-a4f7004b4b52/6258a495-e351-4...

Re: Free kick count Approved
Interesting to read in the Richo on 360 thread that he reckons it's not the frees that are paid paid, it's the ones that aren't paid against the Weagles because of the crowd influence. He calls it the "noise of affirmation" and thinks it influences the upmires directly. No doubt in my min...

I wish there were a few more who could understand the difference between kicking the ball at top speed having just exited a contest and chipping the ball sideways. Jack Steven also gets criticised on here ...

Re: Free kick count Approved
The fact that St Kilda coverted badly is irrelevant. The umpires continually turned the momentum of the match to the poorer performing team by ignoring their infringements.
I'm not even sure it could happen as often as it did unintentionally.

Re: Who is our third best player?
But who is our third best player? Seems horribly unclear. Not because we are overwhelmed with candidates but because we are underwhelmed. Noone is even putting their hand up at all for being up there. It is quite worrying. It's a great question. It really asks if our depth is just an evenness of go...

Re: Team Round 1
I am an Acres fan and think he could be anything. Those sorts of players you want to see in this team. Deflated he isn't playing to be honest. I agree with everyone that Acres might become something really special but he sometimes lacks intensity at the contest. The sometimes probably makes him too...

should have taken the MCG option when we had it What option? I thought that the AFL forced us to leave Waverley with Docklands the only option. Spot on. Once Hawthorn announced they would play there the AFL forced us to move to Docklands (by saying they wouldn't schedule us at the 'G). Really helpf...

They won the GF with 4 x first choice players still out of the team. The whining that has gone on about that bye is quite incredible And, to add the issues that they've dealt with like a stadium deal that ensures they're always close to broke and fixturing that affects their ability attract new sup...

Re: Next captain of StKilda
Geary is enormously respected within the wall of Seaford, that's all that matters in their eyes. It will be criticised but is a Maxwell appointment. Except that I don't think Maxwell turned 29 a few months into his captaincy. I cannot see why they would remove Riewoldt - who is enormously respected...

Well, your post puts the "Pelchen is a genius" theory to rest, ace. It seems like we had a great array of picks to use. Wasn't that what Pelchan did? I don't reckon he decided to recruit Tom Lee, did he? And, here he's taken the first step in resolving our salray cap issues that you credi...

No..Dogs were going to maybe rookie Howard. That was the worst call ever by us and there have been many Hmm... Re: FREEMAN OFF TO GERMANY FOR HAMSTRING FIX
I would love to see NF have a great career with us, but logically I still just can't see why we recruited him in the first place, with such a serious issue with his hamstrings. What were the club thinking? While I'm not hopeful of ever seeing him play regularly for the firsts he must have something...

I reckon that the first half of the 2015 season was elite. But, I don't think he finished in that same form.St Chris wrote:Armo's 2015 was elite.
He's been around a long time and one terrific season makes him a regulation good midfielder in my book.

My 3 year old was rapt with the packpack and the pyjamas delivered.
The chemical smell when the backpack was opened was something to behold though. I opened it up and put it outside to air.

Can't stand impartial people going to the grand final while members of participating teams miss out. Terrible system. I hope you're not having a go at MCC Members. Our subs ($720 a year for metro full members) largely build and rebuild the ground. As members, we run the ground. We rightly deserve o...
