How about Grant Thomas logs in under his member's name and puts forward his case to us......... Now that would be showing some form of putting your balls on the line and being a man wouldn't it! I severely doubt he would though. I think he seriously lacks intestinal fortitude. \ So a bloke should g...

Why would someone wanting to be paid what they believe they are owed make them less a less loyal club person? If another employee had found his paypacket to be a bit lighter than expected or felt that documents had been signed with a view to changing their employment circumstances wouldn't they have...

A game plan mastrefully thought out and played out to restrict margins in unavoidable defeats due to injuries. Lyon limited the damage to at least give us a chance when we had some resembalnce of our best side up and going. That gameplan that restricted margins is why there was only about two goals...

I reckon you can say that he deserves it. He is a part of the sum. The sum doesn't deserve it because it hasn't been good enough. But the part has been. Well and truly. Let's hope it happens... No one deserves it more than Harvey, but no one deserves it less either. Troy Bond deserved it less. Much ...

Well, this is what we are discussing.BAM! (shhhh) wrote: I can't think of a team he wouldn't start in the middle for.
What percentage of centre bounces did Dal start in the centre square in 2007?

Re: a graders
vs, You can get a clearence/contested possesion anywhere on the ground. NDS takles & possesions are nealy always behind the centre (because it's where he plays the majority of his footy). That's why he had 17 shots at goal in 22 matches. Ball had 14 shots at goal and Hayes had 12. Harves had al...

Re: a graders
Are we watching the same player? The [Dal Santo] I watch doesn't start in the centre very often. RL names him on the ball nearly every week, usually in the RR spot. He's always top-3 on the team in in things like clearances and contested possessions. Our first choice midfield has been Ball, Dal and...

Re: a graders
I've always felt that way too. I don't consider [Dal Santo] an A Grade player because his best & worst are too far apart. Dal Santo is among the best users of the ball in the entire league. He was held under 15 disposals just twice all year this year. And because Hayes and Ball were less than 1...

Re: a graders
a grade dal santo Did anyone else hear Ian Stewart on SEN last week (sorry if this has already been mentioned but I didn't see it anywhere) when asked to rate #26 said "He doesn't do enough". Rated him a 7/10 but if he worked harder could be 9/10. I've always felt that way too. I don't co...

thanx for dragging our ****'d up and ****'d over footy club into the modern day , on no money... So true. I don't reckon we could pay him too much. The changes he (and others he worked with) made to the club will pay for themselves thousands of times over on what we invested in him. Stat dec or no ...

It thought the game plan was an ideology that was going to be implemented regardless of the personnel available. It didn't change all year despite first half results being poor. In the second half the results improved but (and I can't remember exactly but I posted the numbers here earlier) a large p...

No AFL player is a squib. I don't reckon that's true anymore. A lot of players are all about running off the ball now. There is no implied threat of getting ironed out every time you take possession. You are more likely to be severely corralled or viscously zoned. Players such as J McMahon (and his...

To say that Ross Lyon has not coached a win is a poor comment IMO. David Parkin said after Round 1 this year that he had never seen a St Kilda team work so hard defensively. Grant Thomas himself wrote an article after we beat Adelaide which was praising the way in which Ross Lyon out-coached Neil C...

RL was appalled at our conditioning processes when he took over. And why is his opinion gospel? What's he ever done? He used to work with a bloke who won a premiership? You might want to wait until RL actually coaches a win (as opposed to Riewoldt/Gehrig dragging his sorry Sydney gameplan accross t...
