Maybe we need to start recording and emphasising a stat for selfless acts...

Why does that sound familiar?

FGS!!!!
The TD staff last night were expecting around 45k.

38k for two Melbourne based, unbeaten teams on a Friday night is a poor crowd.

I really had my hopes up when he came. Oh well.
He was just a player-coach and not the captain. Bruce Duperouzel was the skipper.

They came off a double six all right but they played at the MCG last week.

We have two more games at the dome before we go elsewhere.

We will be 2-3 after five rounds.

Can someone please explain to me why Blake was in almost every centre contest during the 1st half?

Also, who was accountable for Hill? We didn't seem to respect our opponents tonight.

What has come back to hurt Baker is his prior record. Four matches for striking Kane Johnson is what can only be described as a massive brain fade. One match for two separate incidents in last years game against the Blues. Both incidents were just plain silly. He should have been suspended for two m...

What about the high tackle paid against Blake in the first quarter when he clearly tackled the Carlton player (whose name escapes me) around the arms.

Poor decision and resulted in a goal to the Blues.

That's only because you can't get your boofheaded body off the ground to allow Leo or Bolts to get under you.

It would be more heartbreaking for them now under the current tribunal rules. Grant would have attracted enough points to be suspended for a week but his good record and an early plea would see him eligible to play but not for the Brownlow. So he would, in effect, miss no matches yet not be eligible...

How good was it being there? We saw CJ running back - we saw him look up and see the oncoming player. We saw him keep going even though we all knew he was gonna get smashed. And he did. It was inspirational, even to all of us in the crowd, it was just great. The applause just seemed to go on for ev...

That real photo shows two things... 1. It was a mark. Jones shows that he has the ball clutched tightly into his chest. The only reason that it comes loose and ends up on the ground is due to the contact by Mattner. 2. That it was a free kick for being too high. I agree with Iceman, Mattner was luck...

I've posted this idea in another thread on goal kicking... In addition to the technique work (which is crucial), players need to practice kicking set shots when they are buggered. Make players lead 4 or 5 times to get the heart rate up and then take the set shot. It's no good nailing them when you'r...

I love the idea of the player flags flying around the venue to remember the great past players.

I would like to see that at St Kilda for every home game.

300 gamers, 100+ a season goal kickers and Brownlow medalists should each have a flag.

The reason that he gets frees is that he is a genuine ball player (like Dunstall used to be). The only way to make sure he doesn't mark the ball is to infringe.
