Excellent game, and Steven will be a gun.

I still can't get used to his running style, though - his movement is very unusual

I always liked Leigh Fisher. It's a shame his career didn't come out better. It probably would have been different if his hammies had stayed intact

Demon fans by about 4 goals over the Blues.. I wonder how long before any participants are in a fit condition to provide match reports? having played down back without my glasses, I can report that: - midfield dominance gave us a very relaxed time down back (well done to the hard workers upf...

The system's set up so that time at the top is counterbalanced by time at the bottom. Our strong period (2004-2009 - 3 prelim finishes and a GF appearance) was created by our weakness in the years beforehand. Our team depends on core players who were all drafted within a few years of each other (200...

Max, Your heart and spirit were an inspiration to us all. You bled for the club, and gave everything you had. You were a real treasure. St Kilda is a better club for having had you, and we as fans were privileged to watch you play. I hope your retirement is a happy one - you've earnt one a dozen tim...

He's still good and I'd love to have him still there.

Whether the relationship's repairable is something that only Luke and Ross Lyon know.

But he's a player worth having, for sure.

I'm actually thinking back to when we had Charlie Gardiner (remember, he was bundled in with King from Geelong). Our forward line seemed to work better with him there, even though he wasn't great. so getting the structure right, in this case, is very important. Possibly even important enough to carr...

GF Starting 22 Ages

For the 22 who played yesterday - this'll be their age as of the end of this year. I think there's a lot more improvement from young players than there is players getting past it. The window's still open for another few years. Rucks: King (31), Gardiner (30), Forwards: Reiwoldt (27), Koschitzke (27)...

We have the players and the gameplan to do it. And (touch wood) the chronic injuries we had a while back seem to have receded, so I think we're more reliable.

Gutting as yesterday was, we're well-placed for next year.

the exact same team would have won a flag against other premiership sides, or even against this side in better weather or with a little more luck.

Best. Rant. Ever.

It's always good to get some affirmation of my belief that nick Maxwell is specatacularly overrated. When collingwood made him captain I figured they'd just run out of talent. but when he was selected AA, I was sure I must be missing something.

It was also good that we followed our standard template - start slow, let them get ahead early, then throttle the life out of them for the next three quarters.

It's alright - the rumors happen to other sides as well.

Like the one about Dane Swan having blood poisoning from a dodgy tattoo. Or Ablett Junior suffering hypothermia because his shaved head loses too much heat.

Hey, we've got a great opportunity to trade, with richmond looking at a major cleanout. We could pick up legends like Jordan McMahon and Jake King for hacks like Jason Gram and Farren Ray

It's good for the team that we can drop two people who've earnt as much credit as those two.

But heartbreaking to see two warriors like that get dropped. I hope they get back in soon.
