Looking at the draw, without going through the predictor, Freo have a very friendly run home and could quite easily finish top two or three IF they maintain their current form and steer clear of injuries. I actually didnt realise what an easy run home they had until just checking it out. All along ...

I hope he plays well. He's proved his character in the past, so I know he'll get his confidence back. I remember him giving the crowd a thumbs-up when he was stretchered off after the Gianseracusa bump. To give that thumbs-up with a fractured skull is just about the most awesome thing I've seen. Min...

Millions of sports players, at social and high levels, have appealed for a decision that they knew wasn't right or acted for one. It's a common part of sport.

It's the goal umpires job to get it right, regardless. The cheesy grin was annoying, but I don't blame Hawkins.

Milney's 11-goal game

Back in 2005, most of us remember him kicking 11 against Brisbane. But I didn't realise that that's now more than any current player has kicked in a game, according to this article: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/take-your-pick/story-e6frf9jf-1225873016828 which adds some more, richly deserve...

I remember a strong "move Reiwoldt to CHB" movement in 05/06. Don't spark it again.

I think Savatage and Solar had him picked for a brownlow since his first preseason game.

But I agree about the kids still being potential stars. I still have huge hopes for Jack Steven. And I like eddy & Armo a lot

Don't play Dempster forward.

If none of us could find out where dempster was for weeks, a midfielder under pressure will never be able to find him.

I'm really happy to see him play great footy... Quite funny a few weeks back, can't remember which player, but they started to get alot of the ball and kicked a few and I heard people yell out 'put Blake on him'. who would of thought 3 years ago people would be wanting that... Goes to show how good...

I think poor Barry was dealt with very harshly. Defenders shouldn't be mean to the poor guy. And the conduct was so much worse than all the off-the-ball treatment Eade asked Lake & co to dish out to Reiwoldt in last years prelim that it's not at all hypocritical for him to complain about it. If ...

This.

We won't be as good as we were until Reiwoldt's back, so we're mostly hoping to stay competitive until then. We're still in the eight after a tough start to the season.

On the bright side, the midfield's very, very good despite our need for it.

Also, while our half-forward line breaks down if we lose one key player, our midfielder still functions.

And who really wins much when their midfield's getting beaten?

This was the kind of loss that'll help restore intensity. Our team hasn't copped a pasting in ages. The guys will be jarred into action.

I'm taking dal Santo as my dream team captain for this weekend for that reason.

Out: King In: Armitage if available, Peake if Armitage is injured. Kosi/Gardiner as ruckmen, only rarely drifting forward Return to rotating our defenders up to the forward line . Kosi in his current state isn't helping the forward line, but a game or two as a pure ruckman might shake him out of it.

I put him as my captain too, after roo went down. I figure I'll keep him because this'll fire him up to get 35 against the bombers.

Were West Coast's key forwards that great in '06? And I think Tomahawk and Mooney are made to look far better by playing with champion smalls and in front of an unbelievable midfield. Not that having the best CHF going around isn't a huge benefit, and he is a huge loss, but you can play well without...

I like players who can create but are error-prone to be further away from our defensive line, so the errors aren't as costly. With Reiwoldt out,it'd be nice to try him on the half-forward line for a while.
