My understanding is that Khan Haretuku is a rookie outside the rookie list, as would be the NSW Scholarship boy WCE picked up. We will in effect have seven rookies this year, so we have 3 to pick up. Strange that we only have two training with us, unless we intend taking some interstaters.

Training Reports...

What has happened to the Training Reports this year? We had 6 or 7 by this time last year. What is going on? Is it lack of interest by our posters? I cant get to training, not from Wodonga. I rely on these reports as do many other people.

Also a back pocket who is disqualified?
Seriously, Geary, Goddard, King, both Gardiners, McEvoy, Steven, Armitage and Howard should all be given a run.

Good show on at 5pm yesterday on the new NITV channel. About indigenous sportsmen froma small communitgy in W.A. It featured Polly Farmer, Syd Jackson, Jimmy and Phil Krakourer, and Derek Kickett. It was mainly W.A. footage, with some VFL. I loved Dereck Kicketts goal kicked around his body from out...

Good to hear Northcote has converted. I was born there and lived there until I married. I went to Preston Tech and was the only Saints supporter in the whole school, out of 1200 boys.

Further on Riolli, I believe he had the most goal assists in the U18 interstate competition.

I agree with SaintsRrising on McEvoy, plus he is being touted as more of a KPP forward than a ruckman at the moment, we have enough of them. I would think David Myers, 190cm, defender who can play on ball, would come into consideration as well. But my first choice would be Riolli. Apparently his gro...

Perhaps Armo may be able to work his way into contention as well. Also Pick 9 if a mid.

I fancy Myers for Pick 9 at this stage, unless Mastern or Palmer are still available. If not, Rance, then Riolli. If we take a midfielder with Pick 9, then 42 should be used on a big defender, possibly Dulic who beat McEvoy in the TAC Cup Grand Final, then pick 68 on a ruckman, Renton, Mulligan, or ...

We have had a few non-Australian born players, our premiership ruckman Brian Mynott for one.
In any case Khan was born in Sydney. His dad has Maori blood.

I wore my warmest Saints shirt to a function at the St.Kilda Saints ground last year, when Nicky Winmar was there. He came up to me and said, "That's an old shirt!" It had Tooheys and Puma on it. I went , cring, cring.

When Roo was captain, and was out injured for 4 games, and Kosi took over the Captaincy for four games and got 11 Brownlow votes, for mine he is the man.

From my reading of the defenders, I would expect Rance to go well before Pears. And would Collier who also can play as a Ruck/Rover be of more use to the Saints?

My understanding is that McEvoy is more likely to develop into a KPP than a ruckman. We just got rid of one of those. We need a true dinkie die ruckman type.

Riolli Masten Rance I would be happy with any one of them. Just a side issue on Riolli. A few of the indigenous boys have apparently suffered an attitude problem, Proud as mentioned previously, Collard being dropped by Fremantle a year early. Riolli attends a private school in Melbourne, plays for t...

I am sure Nick DS would not want it even if it was taken away from the two WCE players. It was bad enough for Robert Harvey when Chris Grant got more Brownlow votes than him but was disqualified over a very minor incident during the year. But Robert then had a super year and made sure no one came ne...

I think WCE allocated draft picks are 13, 30, 46, 62, 78. The loss of these wont help us with our first pick but will down the track.
