Re: Umpires F%$king useless

How was the one where there was a block by Newnes because he took his eyes off the ball for a second to see where the player behind him was. I understand if you are not the guy in front but Newnes was attempting to mark not push a guy likely to mark from out of his way. They seem to lack any intuit...

Re: Are you excited?

Always excited. Hope those that are not excited are young kids who like most youths of today cant wait for anything to happen. Has to be immediate. I have followed the club since the late 60s including the mid 80's when we were the the GC and GWS standard and made Melbourne look good this year. In ...

Re: Rumour is Jason Gram has been sacked

For one, you're assuming he won't receive ongoing support? Secondly, you're ignoring his other indiscretions that have mounted up over the years. I obviously expect more from Scott Watters than you do, because I don't for a minute believe he has washed hands of him, he doesn't appear to be that typ...

Re: How good is Hicky actually?

Hickey has done nothing but take a few good contested marks against Collingwood. He's the only player Blake has ever polled Brownlow votes against in over 200 games. He may well improve but that's totally speculation - he may also be a spud who never puts on size or has no footy brain. Gold Coast a...

Like Ablett. By the way if you work would you stay at your job if someone else offered you 30% more? What the hell would you know about me mate? When I was captaining my club I knocked back a deal worth hundreds of dollars more a week to stay with my club and my mates, and that was when I was study...

Re: Congratulations to SW, CP and St.Kilda

Yeah brilliant start, losing a #1 draft pick and proven player with a decade's experience for a compensation pick "at the discretion of the AFL" (but WHICH COULD HOPEFULLY BE AS HIGH AS PICK #13!!!), no way we could get screwed on this one...

Re: Article: St Kilda Supporters Reaction to Brendon Goddard

If we put ourselves in his situation, only the most loyal of us would ignore the promise of extra money, fresh start and (ahem) equal chances of winning a premiership to stay with our mates. Exactly, the guy is a gutless squib. Don't worry about Roo and Lenny and a million other guys who've done th...

Re: No premiership denial - Harvey or Riewoldt

Forget about Harvey or Rooey. Think of all of those loyal, long suffering fans of this football team who live in a constant state of disappointment. Let me remind you the last time we won a flag was 46 years ago. That is an absolute disagrace but I also live in constant hope. That is the upside of ...

Re: How long since?

If we beat carlton next week we will have won 12 games, but we are not going to make the finals unless Melbourne pull off the biggest upset of the year next week in Freo. How long has it been since a team won 12 games and not made the finals? Usually 11 wins is good enough! :( More teams mean more ...

* Yes, the world has changed/gone mad/whatever. People said exactly the same thing hundreds of years ago when society let women vote, or when they stopped slavery. Its called progression. And they reacted the same way to what I just said as you probably just have. Hopefully your kids will be a bit ...

The whole world is allowed to call Milney a F....ing rapist week after week for the last 10 years, but what have the AFL ever done about that. Maybe Milney was referring to the second example listed below; " Dictionary entry overview: What does homo mean? • HOMO (noun) The noun HOMO has 2 sens...

The precedent here could well be the Will Minson/Danyle Pearce "Your mother" controversy of 2 months ago. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/probe-into-will-minsons-mother-sledge/story-e6frf7jo-1226399207354 Then, it was the Bulldogs who stood Minson down for a week for what was said on the...

Re: Harry O'brien decision incorrect - AFL

I'm just hoping that people who are wrong can admit it. You certainly don't seem to be able to. There was no way in the ordinary course of events that we would not have scored a goal from that play if it had been allowed to go uninterrupted. Daisy nowhere near close enough to impact Armo and even i...

Re: Harry O'brien decision incorrect - AFL

I've watched it a hundred times over I reckon trying to work it out and one conclusion is that Thomas was in a position to pressure or even initiate contact to Armos right side but didn't because the whistle had stopped. So I'm not so sure Armo was a gimme for the goal had the whistle not been blow...

Considering your OP title is wrong, why should anyone consider the rest of your blatherings? I watch exactly 1 minute of the game and I saw the Saints get an OOF free kick in the 60 seconds. So 8-0 is factually WRONG. Get that correct first and the rest of your rant might even be read. Is an OOF fr...

Every close game we've had under Watters, we've lost. How long can this go on before it starts to eat away at watters and the players and the club? Brisbane at the Gabba was pretty close... Ah yes, I had to wait 16 years after I moved to Brisbane for us to win a single game at the Gabba, overall it's a f****** graveyard... Even when we were minor premiers in '97 we somehow lost by 100+ points up here...

Anyone can cruise around the backline mopping up, he does it better than most.... But with our current list and lack of key tall down back, he is needed as a defender, not a rebounder. Cruise around the backline mopping up? Is that what Sam usually does? Do you realise even vaguely how many contest...

I'm no wowser but the incidents we've been witness to, or having been on the end of drunken abuse, have lead me to conclude it's time to ban alcohol sales at the ground. Consistently heavier scoring this year...

I know it's obviously against different opposition so not a direct comparison, but at the halfway mark there's only been one round this year where we haven't beaten our score from the corresponding round in 2011: RD 1 2011: 47 2012: 85 RD 2 2011: 95 2012: 139 RD3 2011: 84 2012: 103 RD 4 2011: bye 20...
