Re: The importance of winning in the way we did, against Fre
I was just thinking too that it was really exciting footy to watch, if this is going to be how Richo wants us to play as a team moving forward I'll be happy with that. I didn't mind the old defensive game plans while we were winning, but if we can achieve positive results with a more attacking minds...

Re: The importance of winning in the way we did, against Fre
Agree. Can't think of too many guys who lost the battle with their direct opponent, although I'm sure there was a couple of close tussles. Mainly though we played as a unit, and as exciting as it was seeing the brilliant efforts of Roo and Rhys i was just excited at some of the great roles played by...

Re: Jack Billings
Time will tell but I would still prefer Aish, KK and Bontempelli before Billings. Meant to be an elite kick havent seen much evidence of that today.... Are you serious? He's played ten games (if that) and already one of our most dependable with the ball in his hands, and reliable (and confident) on...

Re: Most Disappointing Waste of Talent
Bit harsh on Owen & Gellie shouldn't be in this thread. Owen - lost his father at an early age and battled with alcohol, but wrecked his knee very early in his career, curtailing his abundant talent. Gellie - won B&F in his first year (1978), and like Owen wrecked his knee early in his seco...

Re: Gia takes out someone else
id hardly call gia a thug, wat happened to kosi was really unfortunate . 100 worst acts on footy field in my life, couple that spring to mind plugger destroying cavens head and that cracking hit on ling by powell in practice granny. Poor old kosi had no awareness and was riddled with bad luck ...

Re: The Turnaround
This thread will be interesting in about two months. In the next 7 weeks after today, 6 of the team are in the top eight. We have yet to play a top eight team. Of course what you say is true, but I think everyone's completely aware of that. We have a long, long way to go until we're seriously chall...

Re: Moorabbin 1969
Those palm trees don't look very familiar? Clearly we're playing Carlton, so must have been Princess Park if not Moorabbin? Doesn't look like there either... We didn't play finals in '69 so has to be one of those two grounds...

Re: Animal enclosure ! they must be joking .
I used to drink/barrack from there (or next to it sometimes) all the time, but I just look at this as a nod to our past. I'd be more worried if they were actually trying to recreate the atmosphere rather than just a fun idea for kids which borrows the name...

Re: caro sinks the slipper into saints
Seems like a begrudgingly positive article to me, at the end of the day we seem to be moving in the right direction as a club... Apart from a blanket concern I have for any person's well being I can't, however, say that I lose much sleep about the average footballers life after footy. They get paid ...

Re: Lockett's 100th vs Footscray 1987
I was one of the first ones out there to congratulate the big man, I remember Nicky W and Rod Owen trying to protect him from the masses but they had no hope. Was so exciting for a youngster, we hadn't had lots to get pumped up about until then as a young fan in the '70s and '80s...

Re: Lyon re-signs for two more years
If Lyon has so much integrity why did he lead our board on by continuing contract negotiations via his agent while he was off signing his own deal with Freo? That is completely unethical on so many levels, especially when he had them "accept" our extension only to baulk at signing and use ...

Re: christmas day bagging
Collingwood - taunt them about their players systematically flaunting drug loopholes by self-reporting, and ask how the "dynasty" they were all predicting in 2010 is going. If they retort badger them about ditching their premiership coach in favour of Eddie's love child and how that has to...

Re: The Great Nicky Winmar....Winmarverllous
When we made those 2 grand finals back in the day i was emotionally charged to hear that Nicky Winmar had made the trip over to be there for the Saints premiership he missed out on in 1997. Hopefully Nicky gets this opportunity again and we can once again celebrate him with a premiership cup not to...

Re: St Kilda, a club in crisis. The Age
How is Saad drinking a sports drink with a banned substance on match day an indictment on the club? He had the drugs training, are we supposed to monitor players 24/7? That part of the article was its crux and doesn't hold up to even the barest of scrutiny. Pissweak journalism bordering on unethical...

Re: Do you think 09/10 should be celebrated?
Scott did. So did Tim Watson before he came to us, doesn't mean he could coach. I don't think we should necessarily celebrate that era because ultimately we failed to break the drought but 3 GFs and 5 prelims is far from mediocrity as well... Did Tim do the kind of apprenticeship that Scott did? I ...

Re: Email from Chris Pelchen to Members
Saying someone lied about what a club legend said on his death bed is a fairly outrageous accusation. Especially seeing this story is relied upon for memberships and Pelchens position/esteem at the club. A truly outrageous accusation from p66. Still going on about it Con. Trying to get people to ag...

A cynic would call it a desperate act, buying time.... Lucky I'm not cynical.... Seriously, as I stated clearly...
