Re: Rhys Stanley
If Stanley was at any other club he would be playing in the VFL ! He really needs to be physically challenged on the training track to get him making a physical contest every time he goes near the ball. If that means bringing in some cannon fodder to contest against, then so be it but he needs to m...

Re: 2014 List Management - Draft & Trade Discussion
WO: There is plenty of history to show that recruiting players from other clubs can be an effective strategy. Perhaps the examples I have suggested aren't ideal. Our "highly functional and successful recruitment team" have shown an interest in recruiting in this way and not without success...

Re: 2014 List Management - Draft & Trade Discussion
Anyone see any merit in picking up Kane Lucas at the end of the year if we can get him for a 4th or 5th round draft pick? He has plenty of ability and fits into the age/experience bracket we could do with more of. Would make our midfield next year look like this from an age (next year) perspective. ...

Re: Rhys Stanley
How many seasons in is Kurt Tippett? 7 But he kicked 55 goals in 2009 aged 21/22...... So I think you might be pushing the envelope a little if you are wanting to compare Kurt with Rhys. He is 200 goals ahead of Rhys and 3 years older. So yes if Rhys kicks 70 this year and next year and the followi...

Stats are interesting if you compare players at a similar stage of their careers. vs Hale About even, Hale slightly ahead on goals. Stats below http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?tid1=16&pid1=3153&tid2=11&pid2=145&type=A&fid1=O&fid2=O vs Tippett A goal a gam...

Re: Welcome new members !
A few veteran posters do like to lay bear-traps for new members. If you find yourself in a circular argument over semantics, over the right to have an opinion, about whether it's OK to have a worthy defeat, over whether Grant Thomas should make a comeback, over whether Kosi's last three years were ...

Re: Is Saintsational dying or coming to life???
Also couple of points. 1) AFL can't shut this down, its a non for profit that isn't claiming ownership or pretending to be associated with the AFL. Trust me I know about this as they actually sent my website a cease and desist. 2) Whoever registered the .au domain, used an ABN because it is a REQUIR...

Was it a Nexus nickname that bumped years old posts with irrelevant information one year and thereby moved all the good threads of the main page or am I confusing someone else? ps I found this cool image. Re: Guess The Crowd Saints Blues
Whatever the crowd will be, it would have been an extra 5000 if it was played on Saturday night. Monday nights are stupid IMHO. This is a popular view but Monday nights opens up time for some people who frequently can't go. I love the Monday night. It will be one of the first games I'll be able to ...

Re: 2 questions from NeXus Nick
Would you be happy with the following..... 1. Dal was traded for pick 20? 2. Joey was traded for pick 25? 3. Our pick 3 and pick 25 (for Joey), was traded to GWS for pick 1 which we then use to pick Boyd? That's three questions. Reported. <self moderated for abuse and self warned for being a smart ...

Re: 2 questions from NeXus Nick
The reality is we actually really did trade Dal for pick 25 in the real world - do you all think Pelchen is a troll then? This was a worse deal than Nick was suggesting (pick 20) yet everyone attacked Nick. So Joey for 25 is also not outrageous (based on the NDS trade) I dont agree with the final o...

Re: Any umpires here?
That sounds like a great rate of pay.
Where was it?
In a VAFA club in Division 2 for reserves we simply couldn't afford to pay more than $100 a game.
Might be different for the powerful clubs or those leagues that allow you to serve alcohol, but we simply don't have the money.

Any umpires here?
My local football club the Monash Gryphons is looking for an umpire for all reserves games this year.
Does anyone here have any experience and would any of you be interested?
We pay $100 a game.
First game is this Saturday.
Cheers

Re: big mac and the pelican...
I still don't rate mcevoy, nor do I rate his game on Friday. Remember he was versing Carlisle and Daniher in the ruck for basically the last half. He should of absolutely smashed the last half of that game. Let's be honest he wasn't a ruck that fit into our side being such a poor tap ruckman. Our m...

Re: Playing AFL 9s footy
$500 a game and I will consider. Seems the going rate now. Damn right. My team lost about 5 players this year to offers above that figure. As we are an amateur club we couldn't even offer a cent to keep them. If anyone wants to play any full contact stuff we are looking for about 5 players now haha.
