Re: How did we go from top 4 to season over in 5 weeks?
Played three disgraceful games out of 5, one honourable loss one win. Lose rate of 80% will do it. Boy that contract renewal looks daft and a bit smelly right now. It was daft and a bit smelly 24hrs ago too... Under the circumstances it's down right negligent and irresponsible on our behalf. Even i...

Re: Ratts gets 2 year extension - email from President
I have no idea if this is good or bad...me thinks good, I like Ratts, and like the general direction. But, boy, why not wait until seasons end? The decision now suggests to me (with NO knowledge other than my peanut intuition) 1) Decision was made a month ago 2) Could not announce due to shocking l...

Re: Joyce, Have to Keep Playing Him
What are the match ups between Fremantle forwards and our backs?
It would be nice to just play Wilkie, Battle and Highmore but isnt
Lobb is 207cm, tough match up for them... Although, Joyce looked good the last time i saw him play for Sandy a couple weeks back.

Re: The interesting thing about Ratts v Richo
Richo's first couple of years were, dare i say, positive. He had a solid if unspectacular list and he was going ok. I recall that bad goal kicking cost us a few games and wasn't there a year where our highest losing margin was only 25 odd points? Then our lack of quality talent coming through really...

Re: The interesting thing about Ratts v Richo
Ratts has a once in a generation forward and cannot get a good return from that. Ratts has a better, not good, but better, mid field. Ratts has a better defence. Ratts is a better coach but is struggling to get us into the finals and in the end what does some marginal difference between failed coac...

Re: Team v Swans
Good luck to the lads on Saturday night, we only ask they have a dip, not the roll over rubbish of last week. Unfortunately it has come to this. I've said the same thing this week but it reeks of a bottom 8 team trying to get an honorable loss and not get thrashed as opposed to a team that was top ...

Re: Team v Swans
HILL out Butler should get a scare, seeing Snags out. Next week, Snags back and Butler out Marshall shouldn't be playing, he's far from his best. Injured? At least they didn't promote Campbell, even though he got a lot of hit-outs. How many scares does Butler need?! Wow. Ffs.. higgins hasnt played ...

Re: Sandringham v Bombers
I'm still trying to imagine this place our ruckman go to rest in our F50. It's sounds like such a tranquil place, must be very peaceful too when 35 players run out of the forward line to defend the turnover or to chase the ball we couldn't lock in F50. We must be the only 2 way running team in the ...

Re: Sandringham v Bombers
His job is to kick goals unfortunately he's not playiny in a position to kick any. Our team selection is slaughtering us. We had Hayes, a tall, he played a role, he got injured and we've replaced him with???? Sub 185cm smalls that don't help give King a chop out whatsoever and dont look like kicking...

Re: Max King
What a sensible thread.. It all makes sense. It beggers belief really... then we have Membrey playing exclusively 50-80m from goal, or defence. Not even a threat to kick a goal, followed by the 2 week disaster of playing Butler (out of form) and Higgins (rushed back when not match fit) Wouldn't mind...

Is Marshall injured? He looked about 100 years old out there and hasn't played that well all year.

Re: Mach thread: saints v bombers
A lot of posters appear to be putting the failure down to Ratts but in his defence he has not been dealt a very good hand with very few natural footballers out there. Stop picking them in the team then.. And even non natural players can show some heart and intensity. Those players should be ashamed...

Re: Dedicated AFLW Forum
If you put gender to one side and just debate AFLW as a product on its own capable of generating a sustainable market and revenue, it is also going to struggle significantly and will only survive with financial support from the men's game. If you grew up on AFLM, you probably aren't attracted to AF...

Re: Dedicated AFLW Forum
It would just get lost in it's own forum, I'd rather see info here than have to switch forums completely. I was happy with the idea of putting AFLW in the post title for those so against reading that information. Me too 👍 Fair enough - but if a thread has "Rhi Watt" in the subject line, w...

Cats beat Doggies. Cats now 4th. We're 5th. We play Lions, Cats have a bye, then play WCE. Potentially, we may slip again. Ohhh dear Can someone do the Ladder Predictor for Round 14 After Lions win, and Cats win Geelong play Nth AND WC twice to our once.. thats a free 8 points extra.. We have a tou...

It was fantastic that all 3 played today and they'll all play a big part in our future however, we need a lift in a few areas to compete with Lions, swans etc coming up.
Higgins is a definite and at least one of Clark, billings or butler also come in..

Re: Richmond was robbed of 2 points
Surely there are better, more important, worthwhile things to discuss than a non event finish to an opposition game where by the losing team coughed up a 30 point lead. A player kicked the ball as the siren went when 80m away from goal, who cares.. yeah it was probably a bit silly or risky but reall...

Re: Team v Cats
Sharman keeps the opposition's intercept marking defender honest. We could have used him last week. King would not have been mauled as much as he was if Sharman was there to distract other tall defenders. He's a natural forward. Exactly. I dont necessarily expect Sharmto kick a ton of goals however...

Re: Set Shots for Goal
King, Membrey and Gresham all had set shots for goal within easy kicking distance and none from a very difficult angle. Each tried an around-the -corner shot and all missed. I am confident all three would have scored goals with a normal drop punt shot. You mean Higgins... but yes, 3 goals just thro...
