Re: Battle told not to attend B and F
Whatever his contract states at Hawthorn, you can bet there's a whole lot more money coming his way. Did his wife get a high paid part time job as part of the package? Will they be moving into a luxurious home without having to put their hands in their pockets?

Re: Jack McCrae
My major concern in the midfield is clearances. It's by far the weakest part of our game. McCrae isn't coming in to wow us with his GPS numbers. He'll be in at most centre clearances and stoppages and should help us not get obliterated in there like we have been regularly in the past few years

Re: Ivan Soldo nominates St Kilda
A competent back up strong ruckman its essential. He'll come cheap. Campbell had one year left in him at the most. Soldo has a few years left in him and it will allow us time to develop a younger ruckman. Hopefully Heath is that guy, but there's still a question mark over him. I'm scratching my head...

Re: Ivan Soldo nominates St Kilda
The thought of using Marshall up forward for more than half the time is pretty enticing. Would be a nightmare for opponents

Re: Ivan Soldo nominates St Kilda
We saw how Marshall really struggled against McInerney. The extra bit of height and weight that Soldo possesses would make him potentially more effective. Marshall doesn't possess a big leap

Re: Ivan Soldo nominates St Kilda
People may say "why not Max Heath?"
Ivan Soldo is the same height but 16kg heavier than Heath. That amount of weight really matters

Re: Ivan Soldo nominates St Kilda
Marshall had about 5 hit outs to advantage for the season. His centre bounces ruck work is ineffectual with his only contribution to clearances being grabbing the ball and dump kicking it forward. I love Marshall. He's one of our best, but a tap ruckman he is not. If Marshall goes down with an injur...

You don't need star key forwards to be grand finalists
Looking at the Swans last night and the quality of their key forwards Amartey. Very ordinary footballer McLean. Strong but bog average key forward McDonald. Competent, but realistically B Grade at best We match that level of key forward talent. Small forwards have become increasingly important and s...

Re: Jack McCrae
I'd rather our approach would have been focused on younger players.
However, as long as we're not coughing up decent draft picks.....
Our clearance work is the worst in the league. At least he'll help with that

Re: Zach Merret....?????????
This is all just BS
Merrett is captain
He's a short way through a long deal
He had the chance to leave a couple of years ago when Essendon were awful. He stuck around
He's not going anywhere

Re: Port vs Hawthorn
Mitchell was an egotistical smart arse who looked down his nose at everyone when he was a player. Even his own team mates thought he was a stuck up, superior prick. I have that on good authority by the way. Too late to start reinventing yourself as something entirely different. Essendon are my most ...

Sicily misses the chance to win the game and then loses his s*** in a spat with Hinkley.
Hinkley shouldn't have done what he did but seeing Sicily lose it was worth it from my perspective

Sicily hitting the post. Hysterical. Made my night. Hawks can now spend their whole summer practising their irritating, juvenile and theatrical goal celebrations.
Now we'll have a break from the media slobbering over them in fawning adoration

Re: Trust in your players
Our club's history of short term fixes has been disastrous since some of the appalling decisions made during the Stan Alves and Ken Sheldon periods. If you can confidently predict you'll get 100 games out of a player (e.g Brad Hill, Mason Wood), then fair enough, but trading good draft picks for guy...
