Re: Hugh update
How does a 21yo end up needing to lose weight? They're usually still trying to beef up at that age. Everyone's different, I suppose.

Re: Matt young son
Matty Young was one of my favourite players for a while. He had an amazing ability to pass the ball. So accurate. He was very effective out at Waverley.

Re: Best Saints wingmen in the past 50 years?
In my 30 odd years as a Saint, if Winmar is classed as a wingman, there can be no contest. I can't really comment on anyone who preceded him.

Re: Who Wants To Come To Us?
It's hard to see why someone like Kelly would come to us for footballing reasons when he's surrounded by such talent at GWS. Still, we weren't much chop in the period when Gehrig, Hamill and Lawrence joined us either, but they could at least see the potential in the young players in the club at the ...

Re: 2017....WHAT WAS IT?
If we'd had an easier draw we probably would have made finals and we'd all be happy this week. The Age assessed ours as being the 4th (?) most difficult prior to the season. That's not to say the season wasn't disappointing (it was), but the tough draw is a mitigating factor. Today at least I'm choo...

He looked very composed interstate last week in only his second game, and continued that this afternoon in game 3. It's a great sign.

Re Foxtel Go, you'd need to use a vpn to pretend you're in Australia for it to work. I'm overseas at the moment, but fortunately most games are on the Australia Plus channel.
There's also the CrownBet app, but I haven't managed to get a stream going through it.

Re: Changes v Tigers
The intensity is much higher at AFL level, so I can understand why they wouldn't want to risk Freeman having his hammy go ping by playing him this year.
Mav is a bit lucky to still be in the team, so may finally get dropped. Dunstan was good last week, but too quiet yesterday.

Joey did the same thing a little while back. It just seemed like a smart move then, as it does now.

Re: Will We Deserve to be There In Sept?
I don't have a great gauge on what a St Kilda side in the bottom of the 8 looks like. We've generally either been pushing for the top 4 or well out of finals contention. Sides that finish 8th are often mediocre to good though, which is what St Kilda are at the moment.

The drafting of Michael Frost was bizarre. At the time they kept showing a goal he kicked over his head. What a waste of a pick.

I agree about getting games into McKenzie. He could potentially end up a very useful player, but it's hard to tell because he hasn't played much.

They showed the benefit of being thereabouts in an even year. As long as you're in the finals, anything can happen when there's not dominant side. I'm not overly surprised they're where they are now.

The silver lining is that we need them to finish above Hawthorn. That looks likely. If they finish above us we don't deserve to play finals.

Re: Saints drop out of race for Fyfe - Herald Sun
Every time we've been linked with Fyfe I've thought of jaxons saying last year that we would not be signing him because he would be signing a new contract at Freo. He's from Perth; why would he want to move to Melbourne? Re Kelly, either we get him with our two first round picks or we have two first...

Wow that 2004 list is light years ahead of the current one. Here's hoping the players will develop sufficiently to rival that list by 2019 or so.

Re: Is it time to rethink trading and draft priorities?
My genius observation is that we need a gun midfielder. Nobody has ever suggested that before, so lucky I'm here to provide my insight. In all seriousness, right now when we play poorly the midfield is shown up as being collectively pedestrian, taking far too long to get it into 50, meaning our forw...

I agree. Paddy is in much better form, albeit at the next level down, so should play ahead of Bruce.

I wouldn't mind that move at all. Bruce needs to find a bit of form somewhere, and it's easier at Sandy than against Sydney.
Koby is a definite in, and although they're different types of players I'd not be surprised to see Minch get dropped again.
Then Savage or DMac in for Jimmy W.
