Re: Milne offered a week
What a effing joke another example of us being bent over. Or of you just whinging about every other club getting better deals. Firstly have you even seen it and secondly where are the stats that show the pies get the best deal with the umps. There are just people who whinge about everything and nee...

Re: Dempsey v Saad
Not sure if this was asked on any previous post, but has any heard anything about what was said? Saad seems a very placid kind of guy but didn't appreciated whatever it was that Dempsey said. I've heard it was racial and if so I'd be disappointed if the Club didn't take it further. If the shoe, or ...

Re: Sliding rule
Yes, it does have some merit, but not by diving or falling on the ball. If you slide in to gather it, then that is what they should be looking at.bergsone wrote:i can see some merit in it,but overall prefer not to have it ,if that makes sense

Re: Sliding rule
Hey Plugs, What do you think about the ridiculous sliding rule now? Bl00dy stupid rule, one of many ruining the game. I think it was an incorrect decision because it was forceful contact below the knees. Is that the only incorrect decision tonight? I did read your post. As it says "I think it ...

Re: Sliding rule
I was only talking about the NEW rule not umpiring. Why bring in a rule that they don't know how to apply???
Did you say the contact was forceful? Kidding aren't you!

Re: Good Friday footy
Not sure if it has been explained in the past but why/how is it o'k to play football on Easter Sunday and not Good Friday?
Are they not both religious occasions and just as holy as each other? Died Friday, rose Sunday.

Jim O'Dea, 1972, no report, no evidence and obviously no video = 14 weeks.
It's been happening for a long, long time.
I'm not necessarily talking about injustices to St.Kilda players but anyone hard done by under these circumstances.
We have had our share of them though.

Re: Sliding rule
Davey did no such thing. You do realise that Davey was tripped by the player sliding in so if umpires hadnt become lax on that rule it should have been a free for tripping. I have a serious question. Have you followed footy for a while because sliding in to get the ball is a relatively new thing. Th...

Re: Good Friday footy
If the season started after Good Friday then these discussions wouldn't be brought up. Funny you should mention that Noob… The entire season starts the week before Good Friday this year because the AFL believe so strongly about not playing football on a holy day except… wait for it… they are not wi...

Re: Sliding rule
Where was Reilly trying to take out Davey???? The rule should be as you stated, to prevent players taking out others, but that is not how it is being officiated. have you seen it??? again I will point you to the umpire decision in that case text book Yep, I've seen it!!! A number of times actually....

Yep, I've seen it!!! A number of times actually. Why would I comment on it if I hadn't??? So, all umpiring decisions are correct according to your post, seeing as you are specifically pointing me to his ruling. Davey propped (read squibbed) and avoided the inevitable contact, knowing all too...

Re: Sliding rule
Possibly a lot more head clashes if the only thing players can do is bend over to pick up the ball? Yes, that's an interesting point. It could actually mean more high speed collisions and head clash concussions. I think it's one of those rules we'll need to see in action over a period before its fu...

I wish people would stop referring to Gary Rohan when discussing the sliding rule. Thomas did not" slide" into Rohan.

Re: Adelaide vs BJ match/bitch session thread
why aren't the umpires this pro victorian when we play there? Spot on gringo. Adelaide certainly getting the rough end of poor umpiring. Bellchambers constantly grabbing hold of opposing rucking and throwing them out of the way. Hasn't been pinged once. New sliding rule sucks. Not sure what Reilly ...

Re: Wright
Apart from what I thought was a very solid game, the main thing I liked was when he had a mark/free late in the game. Was about 65 out and instead of bombing it as long as possible and ending up with an easy rushed behind, he lobbed it about 20 out, we crumbed the ball and goaled. Even seasoned play...
