I think it's a great idea. The money raised could go to either helping maintain the site and/or sponsoring more players.

Interesting couple of lines from the Bigpond article Dec 15th; "Allen actually announced his retirement during the 2009 season, having failed to recover from a hip injury sustained during the 2008 semi-final win over St Kilda. But since his retirement in August, the 21-year-old's condition has ...

Kennelly possible link to Saints

Was watching the early Fox sports news this morning and at the end of the bulletin they mentioned a breaking story about Tadgh Kennelly returning to Australia and a possible return to either Sydney or as a player/coach at St Kilda. Searched news bits and couldn't find any other reference to it. Howe...

AFL releases "permission to train" list

The AFL has released the list of players given permission to train with other clubs.

St Kilda as expected has NIL players training with them.

Interesting that Carlton who are linked with Matt Maguire do not list him to train with them

Question about instalment plan from last year?

Hi I received a text from St K FC saying that my next payment will be taken out shortly (October). I've forgotten whether this will be the last installment payment taken out for my memberships from last year? Can anyone remember when it finished by any chance? Will the payment this month mean my mem...

A good Omen - I am not going

Yes this is a good Omen for Saturday. I went in 1997 and we lost. I also follow the Storm and went to Sydney last year and we lost. I went to a couple of my son's footy grand finals and soccer grand finals and they lost every one. The moment I didn't go they won. I believe that by not going, I have ...

I don't mind saying that I have been reduced to sneaking a peek at this board. Yes I am in Melbourne but not watching the game, not listening to the radio as my nerves are completely shot. All I can do is hope each bit of news posted calms me. Yes, I need to be surrounded by the love of my fellow Sa...

Whilst I have a number of Saints items, two I recently purchased were extremely nice 1. Some years ago, I painstakingly collected a number of Trevor Barker footy cards and a piece with his original signature then had them framed. A little short of cash at the time I sold them. Recently won them back...

I am a little confused. I am sure there have been many discussions over the years around having a social club membership in order to receive a grand final ticket. The last I recall, buying a social club membership only meant that you had an opportunity of getting a grand final ticket if we make it, ...

My weekend is based on the Saints
When we win, the world looks so great.
When we lose, it's so bad
I get pretty mad,
And become so unbearably sad.

Carlton's wooden spoon year at Princes Park

Had a client this morning who is a Carlton supporter (yes, I was still nice to him). We got talking about the Saints and Carlton, memories etc and he mentioned one of the most vivid memories that still lives with him In early 2000 (maybe 2002 or so) Carlton got the wooden spoon and St Kilda played t...

It's interesting when Geelong player Collingwood last year and the pressure the Pies put on them for an absolute thrashing. Geelong still fumbles the ball consistently in games and I notice when good pressure is put on them (even in parts of Richmonds recent game), they turn it over as well. No team...

After attending the footy for many years, I have always found Colllingwood to have the most obnoxious supporters. All clubs have some, but take their cheer squad. I don't recall ever being to a match where Victoria Police weren't dragging some of their supporters away. However saying that, there was...

I have two early memories. The first was lying on the lounge room floor listening to the radiogram. It was the 1971 grand final and I lived in Wodonga. No one else in the family followed footy so found it strange I could lie on this hard bit of carpet all day listening to the broadcast. The second w...

What is with the sudden appearance of tattoos?

One thing that has surprised me this season is what seems to be a sudden increase in the appearance of tattoos on players. In one of the Collingwood games recently I saw two of their boys with an entire arm coloured in. Then there are many players that almost seem to have home made tattoos on the in...

Freo's McPharlin is in trouble

Just before half time in the match vs Crows today, McPharlin came flying in to a Crows player front on. Collected him with his knee in the face and the Crows player was taken off on a stretcher.

Very reckless attempt at spoiling the mark
