Re: Saddest day of the year

I hear what you're saying. For years now I've never watched the Grand Final ceremony and celebrations. I explain it this way ... it's like you're a bachelor. You desperately want a wife and you keep on watching wedding ceremoies. You're happy for the couple ( 2 teams in grand final) but you prefer n...

Weather - Friday

Gold Coast area. Sunny morning. Slight (20%) chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening. Top of 28 degrees. If wet ... who would that favour? PS Hope you like the 'Saintsational' sign which I take to the games (along with other banners).

Re: Trauma - 10 years ago today

I watched it outside Luna Park. Devastated. For about 10 secs I had that possible premiership feeling. For those of us that also were alive and tated the '71 and '97 failures it's pretty soul destroying.

Re: Historical Context of Tonight's Win.

Yes I remember that period of time. My Dad was a Blues supporter - I followed the Saints. AS a youngster I'd look forward to going to see Saints v Blues at Princes Park. Always lost. It was wonderful duting the Hamill/G Train era to see us begin to spank Blues in games - and they became the 'rabble.'

Too right. Kick like that every week and we're a huge chance to win every game. In recent times we would miss a few sitters in fron of goal.

Re: So how confident are you of a win vs North

Well if we can't beat North Melbourne with pretty much our best side on paper (ok no Carlisle, Webster) then it's not looking too good for 2020. Surely Brown must be a bit underdone having not played one game.

It's a tough call to drop any player as to me it was our best win for the season. Hard to believe our first century. Reckon Steven still a bit rusty.

Re: Hannebury - Indefinite

Looking at Geelong's injury list .... NO player indefinite NO player out for season. Even Richmond has only one player out for season - Rance. When you have 10 on your list unlikely to play for reast of season ... no wonder we are battling to win more games.

Hannebury - Indefinite

Hannebury .... now indefinite. (Sigh) Here we go again! Now 5 indefinites and 5 season over on our list. I knew as soon as they start using words like 'resting' or 'managing' it's more sinister. It's like when McCartin went off this year - they said just a 'precaution'. You can't help always think t...

Credit - where credit due ... proud of our efforts in last 15 mins. Play that way for rest of game ... and lose ... won't be so angry or upset

Re: Match Thread Saints v Kangaroos at Boot Hill Round 1 2019

Let's face it ... after round 16 on form - there are only 2 pathetic teams playing in comp at present ... Saints and Suns - Carlton showing plenty ... Melb better than us. And I don't know how the hell Kangaroos got so fired up

Re: Match Thread Saints v giants Round 7 2019

Just as I feared ... with so many key players missing - Steven, Geary, Lonie, Carlisle - loss of Roberton - no sign of Hannebury ... it's too hard. Especially against all the A Grade Giants players

2014 ... opened with 2 wins

Last time we opened with 2 wins was 2014. Then we lost in third round. Can we cause another upset in the West next week v Freo? My heart says 'yes' - but head 'no.' Let's hope and believe. Prior to 2014 that you have us winning 4 in a row in 2010.

I hope the boys will be right. Of course their health is No 1 concern. But I gotta tell you as a Saints fan ... you just feel jinxed. I never expected Roberton to sit out all last year. And I thought we'd finally get to see McCartin put together a few games in a row. And then there's Jake. Oh well, ...

Eight to make us great ... well, greater

Wish these eight could be ready for Round 1 team ... Longer, Steven, Acres, Brown, Coffield, McKenzie, Hannebury and maybe Armitage. Add in the injured Carlisle and King and our team list would look ok.
