Gee, you guys are all overrating Adelaide a fair bit IMO!! How I reckon it all might go (if I've gotten the finals system right) is Geelong, Eagles, Adelaide and Sydney all win in week one. Kangas beat Adelaide and Sydney beat Port in week two Eagles beat Kangas and Sydney beat Geelong in week three...

What a load of rubbish . Keeping B Voss because his brother is a powerful figure in the AFL and we wouldnt want to get him off side ? I see better logic written on toilet walls than that drivel !!!! And thats not me advocating delisting V2 . Its just me reading the logic on why we would keep him . ...

We can't stack it with midfielders ... we don't have any. This was certainly the case until a few weeks ago, but we have continued to play with IMO at least one midfielder too few while leaving the likes of Thommo, Armitage, Howard and McQualter and, in one game, Birss on the sidelines. I accept th...

It is possible that new fitness staff could help at the margins (although was there anything that much wrong with Starch? He seemed to go ok at the Lions). But surely there are other causes for our current tendecy to become listless and seemingly lose the capacity to use basic skills like accurate k...

Interesting debate: Moreover, what on earth was Lyon doing leaving Thommo on the bench for most of the second half when some players on the field were looking like they were about to drop? Yes, I know that yesterday wasn't a crucial game, but Lyon has done this before with Thommo and other players....

MB, I have no doubt Caro has been speaking to the same person that has been leaking information to her in the past and it is where Burkie's name has come from. At lest she's now prepared to admit the leaks. It is typical of the snake running the club to attempt to paint a club legend as somehow dis...

Drat, I knew someone else would post this while I was writing my effort. I'll post my comments again here and hope the mods close down the thread I opened. Sub-text of this totally self-serving article is, methinks, that la Wilson has decided to bail out of the Butterss camp. The end of her article ...

I think all those posters who seem to want to delist half the team each season are going to be a tad disappointed. Thommo, M Clarke and Gehrig are gone and Harvey is no certainty to play on. I imagine that Raymond is a certainty to be cut, and Sweeney a strong chance. That's anywhere up to six gone ...

Interesting debate: good points made on both sides IMO. I can't see much value in bagging the coaching staff at this point in time. We will find out next year whether we have appointed another Tim Watson or - as some here seem to think - the next Messiah. I don't think anyone can be sure. There are ...

nah made his debut in Round 1 1995 against St Kilda Absolutely: sorry, had 1994 and 1995 around the wrong way in my mind: all I can really ever remember from that era is Gary Ablett Snr hanging his head as he received his loser's medal on GF day: I can never precisely which opponent inflicted the m...

What a shame. He deserved to be part of another premiership-winning team, but it wasn't to be. He's a mad bugger, but the type of charismatic talent that we don't see enough of in this era of run, chip, handball, run, chip, handball, etc. I suppose he's been worn down by the injuries and can't face ...

Trade L Fisher, Raph, X, Ball, Milne, Kosi, Lenny, Dal, Joey and Riewoldt for draft picks. M Clarke, Voss, Thommo, Harves, Fraser, Max, Hamill, Gardi, Gram, S Fisher, Gibert (too old to make it now), should all retire. I want to see the coach get 22 games next season into Brooks, McQualter, Armo, Ho...

Get a grip FFS ya big sook. We got smashed this year by injuries, took an understandable while to grasp the game plan and played some good footy after the break. The second half of the season wasn't quite as wonderful as you make it sound Teffers (devastating fourth quarter collapses against the Pi...

Yes, when you consider our much easier draw than in 2006, making an EF once again would have flattered our performance. In rounds 21-22 last season, we were guaranteed a place in the 8 and were still an outside chance of making the top 4. Truth to tell, this season we lost to, or struggled to beat, ...

Aging list with serious holes Most of your other comparisons are valid, but not this one IMO. We don't really have an ageing list of the sort we had in 1999: the backbone of our list is in its early to mid 20s. And we don't have that many holes either. The Watson era brought some extremely curious ...

Mehe babbleheaps and Danwannabeafootballanalyst you have no clue whatsoever and make stuff up - seriously go back and read what your saying. To be fair to journalists, it has to be said that reporters on commercial news and TV shows are at the bottom of the journalistic food chain: only one rung above talkback hosts IMO. So seeing Howard as epitomising everything that is wrong about journalism is a bit like seeing parking officials as ep...
