"" Sam Gilbert – Shoulder (grade 3 displaced AC joint), test ""

he'd be an extremely handy inclusion in our, atm, less-than-stable backline and i reckon would be brought back in.

i always assumed he was never forgiven for the 2004 preliminary final. heck, i have never forgiven him. he ran into an open goal, coulda kicked it at any time as he was running in and he got caught- holding the ball. if he woulda kicked a goal the clock woulda run out and we woulda been in the 2004 ...

Re: LYON not giving up!

"I've got 13 weeks to fix it."

i really didn't like hearing him say that in the press conference. it just didn't leave me with the upmost confidence in our couch. afterall, if he takes 13 weeks to fix it, we definately won't make finals.

calling some our players mentally and physically soft and then training them on a basketball court. hmm. what a way to toughen us up. hey you're missing the point. It's all about Zone Deefence remember?? right! how could i forget! too bad the zones they'd have to defend on a basketball court are co...

at least he didnt make them skip training to go to the movies like GT did in 2004. now that was some good old fashioned coaching tactics. if i'm not mistaken, i believe that week there 10 game winning streak finished. hmm interesting

i completely agree- our form is down. very very down and we dont show any signs of improvement at this moment in time. however, there is a possibility we could turn it around. a small chance, but we'll see i guess. call me an optomist.

Interesting comparison

at the moment i am trying to find a positive in our current situation. looking at the facts from the last couple of seasons (despite quite a few obvious differences in form): <<After Round 9>> (over 40 point losses noted) 2008: 4 wins, 5 losses - 46 point loss to Brisbane (R9) - 42 point loss to Gee...

Re: West Sydney here we come

I think it's time to bite the bullet and relocate. St.Kilda just can't compete withe big boys anymore. A golden opportunity was lost in 04 and the quickest way to success is to relocate. Just look at our history and tell me what the odds of success are if the Saints stay in Melbourne. Certainly sur...

I personally understand what people are saying, but, rellocation is a big thing. Despite the devastating loss on the weekend, we have still won 4 games. The fact that some of our supporters are even considering a move to the Gold Coast or W.Sydney, all because we are dropping games, is absolutely ab...

this is an excellent idea. hopefully rodgerfox and others from the other thread re: gooses injury post what they said, cos, especially rodgerfox's response was really uplifting. " Matt- For the past 99 games we have seen you give your all on field. We have seen you combat injuries with a lot of...

 i dont think maguire will just up and retire, considering the club had to tell him not to try for a return this year. also the reports that he was fighting back tears as leaving xrays- just seems like he has a little more passion for the game than to just simply retire. though i guess time wi...

Goose's best asset was (hopefully will be again) his confidence. Goose wouldn't just prevent his man from marking - he'd outmark him. He did this late on the game against Richmond, and my eyes lit up. I hadn't seen that from him since 05. I thought we may get to see him reach his best. Goose wasn't...

wow, sucks about goose. can that nerve thing be fixed or is it a longterm thing that will continue to persist?

we are very much screwed if roo is out for 10 weeks imo. though only time will tell how long he is really out for.

i just hope goose doesnt follow the same suit as luke penny, who retired at 24 due to a chronic knee injury- as we all know he is a very capable player (though there are a lot of people on this forum who have been saying otherwise recently and are looking to get rid of him). goose is contracted till...

i guess this is probably for the best, re: his form, will allow him to have a proper break and attempt a full pre-season injury-free. i just hope he doesnt give it away before then. would be a shame as, when he is in form, he is an excellent player and is still young.

And in the past it hasn't really achieved that though. love the optomism but the only thing that will really help us out is if scans tomorrow disprove what was said on SEN. we dont need anymore setbacks.
