Re: Coaching Appointments

Longmire is a proven coach. Sydney have never bottomed out. I think they have only had 2 top 5 picks in the last decade! Sydney's consistency isn't only on Longmire, it started with Roos. Ironically if Longmire had gotten the Saints job in 2007 (he was short listed with Lyon & McKenna). Lyon pr...

Re: Trade King

I can’t defend King anymore As someone said he made Zerk Thatcher (who was dropped a couple of weeks ago) look AA His stats from yesterday were frightening 1st quarter donut 2nd 3 handballs all outside F50 4th 1 disposal inside F50 His first 4 games (before suspension were ok) since then he has ave...

Re: Trade King

He’s clearly playing as instructed, as nothing is changing, and there are no repercussions, so I just think he doesn’t fit in a Ross Lyon defensive low scoring system. Get something for him while we still can. Do you honestly believe Lyon wants him to play the way he's playing? Funny how Marshall h...

Bloke is a jet! EOFS.
Yes he is a star, the best third tall defender in the competition. How much do you pay for a third tall defender?

Re: Battle

Battle for pick 19 would be a(nother) list management disaster for us. It won't happen. We offered him the $800k early in the year, we've since offered him more. So if Hawthorn beat our offer, which they need to, we get band 1 compo. Our decision is simple, what's the maximum you pay for a third ta...

Re: Rory Lobb

Personally, I think taking Rory Lobb would be great for St Kilda. It's going to solve 2 issues. Firstly, it'll help RoMa...and secondly it's going to help Max King. At the moment we don't have anyone as experienced or as good as Lobb who can fulfil the role of a forward who is also handy as relief ...

Re: Changes at end of the year

I read today that Hawthorn are right in to Battle, but he has strong relationships at St Kilda. So it would appear the only way we lose him is if we try to low-ball him. We shouldn't and I doubt we will low ball him. On the other hand you don't want to pay an inflated amount for a third tall defend...

Re: Would a merger or relocation be such a bad thing

I don’t think anyone on here can speak for South/Fitz people Kevin Murray loves Brisbane Lyons Bob Stilton loves the Sydney Swans To survive and keep their history- they had to relocate I haven't met a Fitzroy supporter thrilled with the merger or enthused by Brisbane. To them, their Footy team is ...

Re: Something changed

I saw the look in Rossy's eyes when Brisbane kicked their seventh in the last few seconds of the quarter. He was seething. There were a fair few F bombs in his quarter time address and fair enough. Our decision making had sometimes descended into supreme idiocy, our back six were been slaughtered in...

I’m watching Swans v Cats Swans are frightening…their skill and execution is sublime The commentators just said “it’s like they can choose mid quarter the gears they want to use/go to and pull it off…sometimes fast …then slow ….rarely turning it over the whole time… Cats doing a lot right but the c...

For those that have watched the presser would’ve seen an honest appraisal of where we are by the coach , make no mistake this guy is switched on. Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns

King wasn’t leading (or even trying to lead) he was jostling to get over the back. If he just turned and did a hit up lead he would’ve had an easy uncontested mark and shot at goal That play fully encapsulates his issues And one other play, the one where he gave away a clear push in the back free. ...
