Re: No Ryder for R1?
We just need Marshall and a pinch-hitter who can gather possessions around the ground. No more recruiting of ruckmen, please ... we need to solely focus on recruiting classy midfielders. Silvagni was arguably the matchwinning ruckman - with only 6 hitouts (and 25 valuable possessions) - against us ...

Re: "Stuck In No Man's Land"
People become narrow minded when looking at midfields. I believe our midfield is a lot deeper than the common Steele Jones Ross Crouch That gets rolled out by the negative types. Sinclair Hill Clarke Webster Patton For starters are all part of the group. Our forwards can all play mid minutes Higgin...

Re: Crystal Ball on Billings
2020, R13 v Lions, R17 v Eagles, lose by 2 and 5 points. Win those 2 and the double chance is assured. Billings made me very upset in those two games. Let me know if you want more specifics than a vague recollection of my emotions after a close loss in an important game. And I'm sure one of his gre...

Re: Drawing a line in the sand for Ratts.
I totally agree Vortex the injuries last year exposed the fragility in our list. But the severity of the injuries also wore us down. I think losing Paton the way we did, with his team mates not knowing if he would play again psychologically effected the group. Then Gresham and the injuries kept com...

Re: Crystal Ball on Billings
"When he's on" That's his challenge right there. There was this perception that he was playing ok in the first half of last season but his stats are interesting during that period, especially the games where we put up the white flag. His challenge is not to pick and choose "when he's...

Re: Crystal Ball on Billings
Personally I cannot believe that Saints supporters think Billings has not met expectation as a #3 pick. 26YO, almost 150 games, good AFL player who is A grade on his day. He is not a champion, but would get a game in every AFL team and will probably play 250+ AFL games. The BONT comparison is BS. W...

Lenny - slow burn? 18yo 11ppg 19yo 16ppg 20yo 16ppg 21yo 20ppg RU B&F 22yo 26ppg B&F and AA 4 years to become very good 5 years to become elite They're pretty decent numbers for a kid in a bottom club. I remember him being poleaxed by Archer and bouncing straight back up. I thought this kid...

Re: Jimmy Webster
Paton played most of his junior years as a mid/forward.
He did not turn to defence until invited back to the TAC competition (for his over age year) where he played as a running half back.

Re: Jimmy Webster
I don’t think Webster is under any pressure to retain his place in the team. All credit to Paton for his preseason and fight back from a very nasty injury. I think Paton eventually plays up the field and is much more versatile than Jimmy. In form both are easily best 22. Backs will be interesting th...

Re: Where does our midfield improvement come from?
A big year for Bytel and Byrnes as they will be hopeful of cracking into the side this year on a permanent basis. If we are injury free it's hard to see who they push out though if this quartet remain injury free. Steele Hanners Crouch Jones I like Bytel but he is one paced based on 2021 output lik...

Re: Where does our midfield improvement come from?
It is only one practice game, but I was disappointed that the Coach did not give more midfield minutes to players such as Byrnes, Clark, Hayes and even try Butler at a centre bounce. We know wheat we'll get from Steel, Crouch, Ross etc. Other than Jones our midfield is one paced and I'd like to see ...

Question for site administrator
Hello, I am interested to know why my site registration was accepted but I can not post on the main forum, just here.
Not sure about other recent registrations, but I wouldn't have bothered registering if I knew this was the case.
No argument, just interested in the reason behind this.
Thanks.

Re: Internal Review
I hope they look into the off field professionalism of some players. Had a friend walk into the toilets of a club and start having some nose beers with one of our most promising 😂 Is this the Dan effect? Who even does that. In public. You have an incredibly active imagination. Nobody's gonna believ...
