Re: The Elephant in the room.......
I was sure the elephant was going to be Hannebery and the question was whether or not he gets a contract for next season. DBC as far as I know he is already contracted he took an offer to play on for an extra year pro bono apparently https://amp.theage.com.au/sport/afl/hannebery-takes-a-fresh-appro...

Re: The last goal for Port
This ball was clearly not on the full. It hits Ryder’s foot goes into the ground and out of bounds. https://streamable.com/bu0z1m Instead of a throw in on the wing they get a clear entry inside 50 which we can’t clear and 15 seconds later Marshall takes the mark. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20...

Re: Coaches Votes Round 7 v Port
Coaches don't listen to the same crap we have to put up with from the Channel 7 commentators and they vote accordingly. Burton 5+4 Sebby 5+1 Steele 4+2 Aliir 3 Gray 3 Houston 2+1 Obviously, there could be other scenarios for vote tally, but I reckon Ross received 5 from one coach and only 1 vote fr...

Re: Frees for and against.
Not even remotely funny. Given the only 50 that resulted in a goal went there way. Still a 50 no one knows why it was awarded. Because we are in positive territory in free kicks received and you can no longer bitch and moan over the inequity of the total numbers, you are reverting to specific decis...

Re: Changes for this week
Highmore should be in the seniors - not sure why he’s not He dominates VFL Byrnes would come in for Butler - from what I saw on the weekend JB is an automatic I’d bring in Jones too And Marshall Out Campbell Windhager Butler Leinert Sub Highmore Fair enough. Not sure if Jones is AFL fit as yet but ...

Re: Max King
How old was Carey when he played that state game for SA and announced himself as a star. All players do it at different stages. Hawkins was struggling as a young key forward. King looked like he had cured his kicking woes late last season but now looks a wreck when he os having set shots. He is reli...

Re: Sandy v Frankston
Peris might be quick but needs to get a kick! He had about 5 touches. Bytel good in close but very average on the outside Like Ollie Wines/Brad Crouch - relevant to that standard Byrnes - very good at that level Billings very good, did some very good defensive acts Owens is quite good overhead - wi...

Re: Selling games!!!!????
I believed in NZ. The trouble was we could never bloody win there. Maybe it was something to explore once we had a stronger side. You can't expect to play there for a decade and build a following by losing every time you play there, even to weak as s*** teams like Carlton. When Hawthorn started pla...

Re: Cooper Sharman
To be quite frank, the likes of Webster and McKenzie were members of a very poor side, replaced by the likes of Coffield and Clark The same with those delisted by other Clubs and recruited by St Kilda for depth If they were delisted by other Clubs, are they going to play in a St Kilda premiership s...

I like him.
Good aggression and football skills.
From what I have seen he doesn’t have much of a leap, a bit like Marshall.

16 inside fifties to 4 and had a 12 point lead That stat you have quoted is with 6 minutes of actual time left until the first quarter is finished ( that’s excluding time on) Just watching the replay now. Interestingly up to now I’ve seen Paton and Membrey bomb it in to no one and I’ve seen Gresham...

Half time. Lot of saints players doing well. Good lead to Sandy who kicked 7 goals in the first quarter. Bytell best for Sandy . Byrnes kicked 2 early goals but has missed a couple since then. impressed with Mitch...Took two great marks in the forward 50 for two points. Billings and Heath doing ok....

Re: Cairns!!
So when any games or a final is somewhere besides Marvel stadium the team might as well default and stay home. The game last night was lost by inaccurate kicking for goal I think if we blame Cairns the club might as well fold and put us out of our misery. Spot on Wally. To be elite in any individua...

Re: Marvel and Cazaly Stadium Conditions
We play at home we win. What are you basing this on? Is this just another statement plucked from your posterior? They beat us at Marvel last season, we beat them in Adelaide in 2020. Why do you make up BS and pass it off as fact? So I have no doubt we could have easily made up one point OK, so it's...

Re: Jack Higgins
Small forwards are going to have barren periods.
No issue with this as long as they are applying the pressure and doing the team things.
Most importantly they need to capitalize on their opportunities, unfortunately Higgins missing easy shots is the biggest concern IMO.

Agreed, I actually though Highmore could come in and replace Battle in defence with Battle taking the Marshall/ Hayes role in support of Paddy.Sainternist wrote: ↑Sun 01 May 2022 1:26am Should have stuck with Lienert and used Battle as the second ruck.

He is so often in big contests. I don't understand why he can't get on the lead more often, he has the speed and athleticism. Chicken - Egg time Does he lead first and after a couple of games of the ball being kicked over his head we revert to him contesting Or Do we kick it to space and see it tak...
