Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns

So the AFL includes "full context" and "all the angles we have" Well, in Australian Rules Football the ball is continually in transit (including contest) and it is umpired according to the (ever changing) Rules introduced by the AFL. Unlike other Sporting Codes where there is res...

Re: If the shoe had been on the other foot

And Howard tweaked his hamstring in following King on a lead, dropping off the chase due to the injury

King may well have still marked but the pressure on him would have been more intense

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns

The Umpire clearly explained what the free kick was for

So did the Umpire make up a rule to benefit St Kilda and gift them a win (in a game played over 100 minutes)?

If so, I would imagine the Umpire will be dropped this coming Round

As the old story was “look at the scoreboard”

Re: Out Membrey In Campbell

The problem with King leading into space is the reason he got that Q4 free kick. There was plenty of space which Higgins was running free into. And King was subjected to what he was subjected to to prevent him from presenting. The ball some 60 metres away with a Membrey mark - so what is the rule th...

Re: Hunter Clark!

Did OK? With his not AFL fit body some on here have banged on about time in memorial. Well, I would suggest that he spent near half the match on the bench (40%?) as he builds match conditioning into his AFL not fit body, and addresses the repeated and lengthy absences he has endured due to the injur...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns

As the results are falling the simple fact is that the constant rule changes by the AFL have led to a contested, mauling, scragging game with no space conceded What we saw tonight is what the code has evolved to An out and out contest which means the little things such as Hunter Clark getting a hand...

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room

As I have put on this site many times what St Kilda need is support for King, support for Howard and support for Marshall Do we have those supports on our List and developing - such as Keeler and Caminiti and Van Es and Heath? Then our midfield needs a class contributor with the pace and skills to h...

Re: Sandringham v Frankston

Not meaning to be disrespectful, but “Needs to win more uncontested ball in transition” It may be that you position (noting you have an opponent because each side has 18 players on the field) to be an option in transition but uncontested ball in transition? I know of Phillipou’s physical attributes,...

Re: Sandringham v Frankston

We are continually informed we have a problem with class midfielders.

Then when we attempt to develop an 18 year old as a midfielder the criticism comes.

Hmmm!!

Well Santa, perhaps go over what you contribute.

Because, from my reading of your eternal criticisms and the eternal criticisms of others on this Site, what I put is the only solution to putting you and your fellow travelers out of your collective misery.

So I will take that as read!

Re: saints interested in players already

Given St Kilda are sitting 15th and going backwards therefore unable to recruit any player with talent it is time for BM to appear in person, call a Creditors Meeting and wind up the St Kilda FC - which would, of course put that impediment to player development, Lyon, out of a job The proceeds from ...

Re: When was the last time?

Interesting I would have thought it would have been more unusual than that - and there would have been a cohort of low percentages hence the higher percentages of some And I think that the Premiership table currently reflects who and where sides have played (so the draw) How that corrects over the r...

Re: When was the last time?

To clarify, absent the thumping by WB, St Kilda’s percentage would be close to the 100% mark (also) The question is when was the last time, at the half way point in a season, 13 of the 18 sides had a percentage of over 100 In fact St Kilda having a percentage of 92 further compromises any chance St ...

When was the last time?

That, at the half way point of the season 13 of the 18 Clubs have a percentage of over 100?

St Kilda is at 92% so not far off making that 14 of 18

One of the passengers is Seb Ross - who should be at Frankston with Cordy and Campbell giving support to the kids being developed

In fact, Ross has traded on his past achievements for far, far too long

That is one fault of our previous Coach and the current Coach

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room

Of interest to me was that Owens assumed the up the ground option in the last quarter, taking some strong and timely marks

This was one of Membrey’s signature contributions

Wood going forward saw a restructure, Wood moving from a up and back wing to a key forward
