Re: What happened Round 19, 1976?
North we're one of the main reasons St. Kilda declined in the 70's, on the field at least. Ron Joseph, a personal friend and member of my cricket club as a j"unior told me this. In the late 60s and 70s, the Saints were, as we would say today, a destination club. Paying big bucks and getting the...

Re: King out!
I'm beginning to think that Max's head injury came from Ratts giving him a clip over the ear for playing golf and not resting his ankle. Nah. Roughy hit him with a wayward drive on the 4th. Standby. There is a rumour going around there is more to this than rolled ankles and stray golf balls...

Re: Duthie is writing a "Tell All" book...
As well as a "tell all" book she's now got a "Fans Only" page. She claims it will be classy, surely an oxymoron. We've established what young Kimmie is, we're merely haggling over the price.

Re: Peta Searle.
Ahh the New Richo. It’s must be Searl’s fault they are losing, not the lack of ability and depth on the playing list? And by Proxy it’s Richo’s fault?! Not by proxy. He was her mentor and main teacher for her formative years at senior AFL level. Do you really believe he wouldn't have had a major in...

Re: Has Hannebrey been a good signing?
Confirmation bias is the answer. You'll believe what you want to and then cherry-pick evidence to support that. Too early to tell if it's a success or not, but so far his constant injury problems don't augur well for the future. If he plays 15+ games plus finals, then we've probably broken even. I b...

Re: Ladder Prediction & Why 2021
14 wins 8 losses. 5th or sixth We'll be challenging, alright. All this doom and gloom prior to round one has me puzzled. We have as much depth as any team in the competition. If we win the first three, which is very likely, even with the injuries we have, then look out! Stop the typical sainter doom...

Re: King out!
I just found out the truth about King's injury. He didn't get hit by a golf ball. Apparently, he did his ankle and then hit his head falling down the stairs at Hanners' sister's place, while playing frisbee with Jordan DeGoey's dog. Mystery solved.

Re: Frawley goooooone
In fairness... Freeman enjoyed like a year and a half injury free We just opted not to play him I was referring more to the anticipation of him playing. Every week it seemed we were promised he'd make his debut, only to be let down. There were even multiple "Freeman Watch" threads on a nu...

Re: Peta Searle.
Listening to Searle speak is like a female carbon copy of Richardson, about as exciting watching paint dry. Richo being her major influence coaching at AFL level would explain a lot. Like other posters here, I believe the competition has been expanded far too rapidly, causing a disparity in talent,...

Re: Jack Bytel? How good? 2021. Opinions?
Not sure if you’re bagging my apparent profession?! If you are, I think that’s a bit of a slap in the face for teachers who do a pretty good job. Especially in this day and age. No, not your profession, just you. You remind me of those teachers who, once a student dared to contradict them, would th...

Re: Paddy Ryder takes personal leave
Another example of the ongoing effects of Covid and the consequent lockdown. This is a very public case as Paddy is a high profile player. Around the country, millions have been affected by isolation from family, loneliness, depression and anxiety. The strain on families has led to a significant inc...

Slow Burn IMO Similar sort of projection to Armitage and Ross A few years to build and the a solid contributor His disposal by foot a concern Agreed and hope he can tidy up his kicking His disposal by hand and foot is exceptional. Left or right, similar to Bytel. Hands are quick and Slick. What on ...

Re: Heaps of famous names in draft class of 21
Connor Harvey wanted to play cricket and wasn't much chop at that either, despite the Harvey family genes. Chad Davis, famous only for getting his testicle chewed. Ben Stewart got his mother's footy genes. Stuart Annand, son of Bud, no good. Nathan Burke, Spud and Plugger 11 daughters and no sons be...

Re: The Mosquito Fleet
Playing under the roof again will favour us. A hard, fast track, roof closed, no elements to contend with. In those circumstances, the "Moorabbin Four" will provide us with a significant advantage. In the open, I reckon we'll cut back to three. Poor old Lones will miss out. He's one of tho...
