Re: Treloar
Can someone explain Collingwood's actions over Treloar to me. I understand they've probably got a TPP problem, but the way they've handled this Treloar issue is making them look like amateur, untrustworthy, fools. Why have they managed it this way? As much as I despise them they've certainly been a...

Re: Lonie potentially to Bulldogs 7 news
I like to look at the big picture, at the moment we are a good side and to be a REALLY good side, you ask the question whether Jack Lonie is part of that scenario...my answer is NO. Contrary to some opinions, Jack Higgins is an upgrade on Lonie, bigger, stronger, more upside, and play help our midfi...

Re: Kudos to St Kilda FC
For the first time in my 56 yearw does our club have competent people right across the club. Its no surprise that we now have good players wanting to come to the club. Finnis has taken us back to Moorabbin and provided a sound and stable club. Lethlean is a super star. He has pulled all the right s...

Re: Treloar
Jack Higgins from Richmond would be nice get but at what price. Personally - I think he's integral to the build. If we could find a way to get Higgins and shunt Lonie - then we've seriously upgraded 2 areas of the ground that we were very innefective in against the Premier (i.e. Crouch as an inside...

Re: Treloar
On the surface getting Adam Treloar seems like a good idea but in my humble opinion, it's just too messy. Number 1, the length of his contract is a problem, 2025 is a big commitment, particularly if he continues to have hamstring problems. Secondly, we don't have a lot of currency to trade for him. ...

Yeah, I'd love to have Bytel as one of the interchange but don't have a crystal ball on his pre season development.
To be honest, not a Ross fan!

Challenge to Saints fans...list our 2021 best 22
I'd love to hear from fellow saints fans how they see our best 22 looking for next season, allowing for the additions of Crouch and Higgins and Carlisle staying. Mine is: Paton Howard Wilkie Long Carlisle Coffield Hill Steele Clarke Butler Marshall Billings Gresham King Membrey Ryder Crouch Jones I/...

Re: Do the right thing Gears!
I think it's fair to say the consensus of saints supporters agree that Geary isn't in our best 22. It reminds me of a similar dilemma in the Aussie cricket team. Tim Paine is skipper but questionable if he's in our best 11. Similar attributes to Geary, highly respected, admired, good at bringing a t...

Re: You heard it here first..................
Sounds good in theory but I'd be very surprised if our first pick is used for trading. There is a fair bit of hysteria around Ben King but I reckon Ben will honour his contract with Gold Coast, meaning we wouldn't really get him until the end of 2022, if at all. I think we will end up with Crouch, H...

Re: Dopers interested in Hind
Hind is a handy player, problem is he, Lonie, Parker, and Kent can't cement a regular spot in the side. This will be compounded when we get Jack Higgins because he WILL cement a place in our best 22. 1 or 2 need to be traded out with Hind and Lonie the 2 that has some currency. On the positive side,...

Sadly we've had nothing from father/ son but the future looking rosy with my 2 grandsons, Jacob and Hunter Hayes, the 3 Riewoldt boys, a couple of Dal boys...surely we snare a couple of gems out of that lot!! Wouldn't it be great if we had future Hayes, Riewoldt & Dal Santo plus hop[efully a Mon...

Re: Michael Hurley
I was a fan of Michael Hurley a few years back, however, it would not make any sense to recruit him now. His best footy is behind him, turns 31 next year plus he is not the big defender we need, as he is more of a zone off intercept marking defender. In addition, he is on a big money contract at Ess...

Re: Message To Gallagher & Gubby - target Ratugolea!
Latest whisper on FB has us linked to Menogala from the Cats... Absolutely no sources though which is a shame. Good player that would be a good fit reckon Geelong has to lose at least a couple of handy players. Menagola, Narkle, Clark, Ratugolea, Cockatoo...all would be feeling a bit unloved at the...

Message To Gallagher & Gubby - target Ratugolea!
Esava Ratugolea would be the perfect fit for us, enabling us to maintain our current structure of having a ruck/ forward combo. He is athletic, a more than capable ruck option, accurate king for goal, and has an enormous upside. You would think he's gettable, given Geelong are bringing in Jeremy Cam...

Re: Jake Carlisle?
Although I must admit I'm not a great Carlisle fan, the reality is we need to keep him. Despite his shortcomings, he is a competent tall defender and with the retirement of Nathan Brown, delisting of Logan Austin, and inexperience of young Clavarino, we need him! Just look at how Tom Lynch got hold ...

Re: Jack Higgins
Can Higgins spend time in the midfield? If so, he is an upgrade. Jack Higgins is clearly an upgrade on Lonie, Kent & Hind, yes he is a very capable midfielder. He Has the highest recorded champion data rating ever in a draft year, played predominantly as a mid that year. Although only 178cm, he...

Re: The Billings Dilemma
Agree with the OP, very dangerous high half forward was fantastic in this role in 2017/18 from memory. The club needs to add class and skill, not trade it out. You salivate over a forward line of King, Marshall, Membrey, Butler, Billings, Higgins, Gresham with others rotating through. Not every pla...

Re: Dumped
Roberton is on more coin than any of them. Roberton is an unfortunate one in that he was playing terrific footy before his heart issue, all Australian squad of 40 from memory. In some ways, our past mediocrity has been a massive problem, as we've had to overpay average players such as Dunstan &...

The Billings Dilemma
Ever since his draft year, it seems Jack Billings has been a topic of conversation amongst our supporters. Is he a forward, is he a midfielder, is he overrated, should he be traded? I have no definitive answer, however, I'll put in my two bobs worth, for what it's worth. In my view, he should be pla...

Lethlean on SEN
Simon Lethlean has ruled out any interest we in Adam Treloar, stating we don't have the assets or salary cap to do a deal for him. Regarding Jack Higgins, he indicated there hasn't been an official request that Jack wants to join us at this point. He played a straight bat regarding Lonie & Carli...
