Re: Changes for Sydney

I am disappointed with the inns for Sundays game we could have made a statement and played some players who were really burning it up in the VFL. Heath is killing it so is Garcia Hall has done ok as well but we go back to the older players Membery as much as I like him has not played a good game in ...

How do we know if he doesn't get a go.
plus all he can is play well at sandy, and don't just give him 1 game and if he doesn't play great that's it got give the young players at least 2-3 games give them confidence.

Re: It's passed me by, but I still love my Saints

G'day Folks! :D Hasn't been much of a season (results-wise) thus far.... actually, as a matter of fact, it's been bloody awful. I'm 80 next birthday (April '25 all being well) and sad to say, I believe that the the prospects, realistically, of me seeing my beloved Saints win a flag are now no...

Stronger, fitter, goal kicking routine practice

Play him higher!

Agree totally I have been saying for a while play King at CHF he will not get monstered then and he is mobile enough to play there.

Re: King knee injury

Also Cammaniti is out for a few weeks with ankle he could have slotted back in to the forward line. I would say play Keeler he was a forward but is now a KPD.Dougal is back next week and we don't really have many big forwards and I am not counting Sharman as big at 193cm he is a good size but with H...

Re: Josh Battle

My major concern with having caminiti playing back is that we are already really short up forward and it shows when there are 2 big defenders always on King. Having 2 or even 3 big forwards and I don't mean 188cm KPF I mean at least 200cm for 2 of the forwards seams to be there the formula just look...

Re: Anyone have any intel?

Marshall has currency, and funnily enough, when Campbell was in the ruck out midfielders seemed more assured. Wouldn’t be the worst idea to cash in if he wants out. There’s an opinion from many that ruckman are the most overrated position. That view is by people who do not play in the ruck. The ruc...

Re: Something changed

Our Defenders were to small Hipwood over 200cm Danaher over 200cm Battle 193 cm and cammaniti 196cm or cordy 195cm Ari 194cm no wonder they out marked us. We need to go to the draft and get a big 200cm defender and trade for one as well not easy but its got to be done. Great move to bring in Campbel...

Re: Momentum killers

The free against Marshall was just poor umpiring. Sebs two kicks were horrendous Jones 50 was another umpire gift As much as I like seb why in the hell is he still been gifted games Pou is a better option he did get 28 touches at sandy or Crouch but seb has to go. Can we play Bonner on the HF with ...

3 of my favourite Saints Great servants of the club over a long period Webster Ross Membrey Done ✅ Good careers but are running on empty In Sharman, Schoenmaker, Garcia And at years end Jones. No further upside to him. Cut him loose and move on. Go to the draft. Same with Campbell although a cracki...

Yes we are all diehards I remember going to the U19-reses-seniors all at Moorabbin taking 2 buses up warragal road as a 17 year old It was tough with no mates following the saints back in the 70s and getting a lot of crap of them but you stick at it. My son is now a saint but I do suspect he at time...

Re: Bassat has a lot to answer for

I think we need to calm down. We all know our midfield is second rate at best, and this is primarily the fault of Tony Elshaug, not Ross Lyon This club has not drafted a single A grade midfielder in 15 years. Lyon is acutely aware of the impotence of our midfield. He has been dealt the additional b...

Last year we had cordy up forward with Higgins and butler who were kicking goals and had score involvements butler has barely played this year either has Higgins so that was a big factor in our goal kicking.

WE do need to take someone I here we are keen on a HBF at sandy as if we need another one of those.
What we do need is a tough mid or a Ruck who can play a bit.
There were a few on show in the recent state game SA v WA

Heath was not bad for being solid he got the player of the round that is 2 weeks in a row when he has played really well, it might be that he is starting to get what its like to be a AFL footballer.
Lets see if he can back it up again against Casey.

Re: Ye old Cordy

This year, Howard has not been beaten in a 1v1 defensive contest. Cordy has a 20% loss rate, which is good but not 'premiership full back' good. Interestingly Howard has not had a handball this year. Turnovers in favour of Cordy, disposal efficiency in favour of Howard. https://i.imgur.com/mkFhIBD....

I really like cordy he is smart and reads the play well but unlike Dougal, Battle, Bonnar he does NOT turn the ball over constantly he is very safe with the ball and makes good decisions. I don't really care about his stats as a Backman he has a job and he does it very well he covers well for the ot...

Would you be happy with a 2nd round pick for Battle? The odds of a 2nd rounder being at his level is 3-1 imo Prefer to keep him - draft picks mean FA Look at Geelong and Norrh I am not sure Battle wants to stay as he has had a offer on the table for some time now and hasn't resigned. When are the suns going to made to treat there academy players like all the other clubs being able to pick them until pick 40 before they can match a pick.
