Re: Matthew Kennedy
Whatever we do with potential trades, I just hope it doesn't involve trading 1st or 2nd round picks

Re: Could we grab McQualter?
The rumour is Ross is keen to use Mini as a role coach working closely with Sandy to develop role skills of fringe players. Well that’s the best practice approach used at Norwood. So, we go to the draft and use our first two rounders to swap for 20 picks in the 70-90 range of picks. A kind of role ...

Re: Jack McCrae
I’m not sure if I’d recruit Jack McCrae - age is a concern But to down play or disregard his CV is ridiculous He is more decorated than any player on our list He’s 30 There are good players in good teams who are 37, 35, 34 Age is just a number - output is the question ONLY!...for a team that thinks...

Did We Miss Crouch that Much In The Back Half?
The Jack McCrae conversation got me thinking. We certainly did in the first half of the season when the whips were cracking and teams were still fit and energetic. But our game style seemed a zippier in the last 6 to 8 weeks and clearly we were winning without Crouchy. Do midfields only need one bat...

Re: Jack McCrae
It's a pass from me. We should focus on building our midfield through the various drafts and not clog the list with midfields on the wrong side of 30. I do agree we need youth in the draft 100%, but also very weary of losing too many old heads, we dont want to suffer the fate of the Roos. If Crouch...

Re: Sydney vs GWS qualifying final
What a shame Hogan took so long to reach his full potential, he had completely understandable reasons for it, but sheez he's the type of FF I'd love playing for us. GWS look physically stronger than the other genuine contenders. Papley and Warner need to get over themselves and get back to playing t...

Yeah that didn't age well did it.
I'm still not convinced about the Hawks though.
We will soon enough if the Hawks build is an emerging trend or not built for finals.

Re: How'd the midfield go?
Hawks will get pumped by the Dogs I thought Cats were going to get pumped last night I think this one’s going to be close until the final siren. I tipped the Dogs but not confident I've got question marks over the Hawks being finals ready, just missing some key talls and hard bodies. Not sure they ...

Key forwards take years to develop and King will improve over time. He needs to work on his craft for sure but we should not kick the ball to him every single time. He has no chance when double teamed FTFY OMFG He is NOT Reiwoldt - might be - but not now. Imagine this kid as a 2nd fiddle to Hawkins...

Re: Who is the worst coach in the AFL
You make it sound like ALL of them were exclusively GWS players and no one else could bid on them. That's not true and you know it That's why I specifically mentioned Taylor and Daniels This year... there's changes being made to NGA rules which will possibly benefit St Kilda. Is GWS going to whinge...

Re: Season 2024 in Review
The pursuit of more talent is the gap we will need to continue to bridge. We must all hope for some success in our selections in all of the various drafts, not least of all, the national draft over the next few years. This is the only missing piece of the puzzle but unfortunately not only is it the ...

Re: Battle
Battle is a decent footballer but the way some people are talking on this thread you would think he was Glen Jackovich. He is an undersized KPD who has reasonable pace but lacks agility, he has the turning circle of the Queen Mary. He has decent disposal skills but not exceptional and worked very w...

Re: IF pick #8 do we trade or draft? For who?
Keep it simple, do not trade 1st or 2nd round picks for the next 2 to 3 seasons. Be patient and build via the various drafts. Don't overpay anyone, if the want to leave, let theme leave. And let Ross keep building a culture that doesn't overpay. We all know about the "cost of living", well...

Agree totally on Bonner and holding back games from younger players Genuinely curious in which players DBC. I don't have a clue myself but am tending to give RL the benefit of doubt when he says he picks sides to win, and on they basis I just assumed there weren't any younger players at Sandy who c...

Re: Leek Aleer
Bonner is a prime example of a "temporary filler", who not only didn't improve our side, but actively held back younger players from getting valuable games and experience. This claim assumes the younger players were earning a spot on an AFL team but not selected to allow a stop gap player...
