Re: Philipou’s Manager
How many times did Marshall grab the ball at the Centre bounce and attempt to kick it? How often were these kicks effective or led to a goal. Not many,if any, if I recall. Is this the nub of the mids problem? We all know Marshall is not a good tap ruckman but is good around the ground. Also when Hay...

Re: Former Players- where are they now
Saw Jack Lonnie driving a Pest Control van just recently. How appropriate seeing he was seen as a pest to other players.

Re: Isaac Keeler
Not sure what to make of it but Keeler trained with the A group today which comprised most of team that played against NM. All those who played at Sandy and a few others comprised a smaller group who did a separate session.

Re: King ...out of form or
Watched Max in pre season and early games and he was very aggressive, playing on immediately if he missed a mark, he was up and about. It was a new Max. Then the injuries and lack of continuity and an unsettled forward line. Even players down the field must be finding it hard to get used to the forw...

Re: win banked and move on
Totally agree and a tough win at Sandy as well. No reports and only injury was to Clarke, who whilst sad for him, hasn’t featured much this year but has given a young player an opportunity.

Marshall wasn’t out on the ground today. Saw him inside in the blue training singlet though, so who knows. Also Steele training but knee was heavily bandaged.

Re: Injury Update
Both Steele and Marshall trained in front of medical staff yesterday. Steele ran laps with no strapping on his knee and Marshall did short stuff. Neither seemed to be hampered. We will have a fair idea tomorrow at the main training session.

He is a unique and smart player, not flashy, but goes about his work quietly and effectively. Watch how much of the ground he covers.

Re: Dual narrative
A positive out of all this is that our players will be more versatile and can be thrown around during a game to our advantage rather than being forced because of injury

Re: Dual narrative
Game prep could have something to do with it as well. Over 6 rounds we have played on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday and off two 5 day breaks. We have travelled to Geelong, Adelaide twice and Canberra and have played on two non standard AFL sized grounds (Geelong and Norwood). Surely this me...

14 St Kilda listed players played a scratch match yesterday along with some Sandy players. May be a few will be considered for senior selection this week including Dow, Hayes and Howard.

Re: Garcia. Great Debut
We saw a changing of the guard today in terms of the best 22, out Butler,in Garcia. Not exactly comparing apples with apples but Garcia brings the tenacity and endeavour from a small mid.

Sandy v Giants
Kept with the Giants until half time, but well down at 3/4 time. Only positive thing is that Jack Hayes is still standing. Can see why Jones was dropped and Heath poor. Some of the Sandy guys doing ok. Lots of hospital hand passes. Collard has kicked a couple
