Re: Nathan Brown to sign on for 2020

Playing forward is a different beast to running around getting kicks in the ruck. Marshall was able to use his superior athleticism compared to other ruckman to get around the whole ground and impact. As a forward he will have a key defender up his clacker who will be also athletic and strong. Mars...

Re: Nathan Brown to sign on for 2020

Battle, Howard and Carlisle are better defenders than forwards. As is Darragh Joyce, who was only trialled there late 2019 due to having surplus defenders and NO key forwards. He was average. Ryder and Marshall clearly better ruckmen than forwards. Agree mostly. However they are also not our first ...

We are after another Docker besides Hill and it's not Langdon. Stand by folks. Could be part of the pick 5 scenario to make it fairer on the Saints. Wow. Came true. Just thought I would help you out in bumping all your past scoops ;) Over at Big Footy, moderator took a common sense approach to JRF ...

Re: Next Generation Academy Rules?

Friday, 22 November 2pm NAB AFL Trade Period Closes (for exchange of selections only) so expect us to trade in a pick in this year's draft sacrificing a draft from next year's draft. I expect next year that we shall be open to trading out players for picks, if required.

Re: Jack Newnes

Jack is a very good footballer when allowed to be the offensive runner into space. Think the link role that Frankie Peckett used to play. 2018 was poor by his standards and that was due to injury preseason and then niggles through the year. 2019 he started well but as our season unravelled he was de...

Re: Jack Steven ... 58 :(

You know, Just 4 posts above mine, someone actually uses the word leverage? If you were reading the thread, you would have read that?? Then perhaps you could put 2 and 2 together and assume I’m replying to him. I honestly don’t think it’s that difficult to follow a conversation? Without having to r...

Could we deal Bruce for 26?

If we can’t do a deal with the Bulldogs (ideally 13 and 32 for Bruce and 18) Would Melbourne be interested to give us 26 for Bruce. I think they would jump at it! We then trade that on for Zac Jones. With 12 and 18 we should be able to get 10, Howard and Ryder from Port. With 10 and Acres and next y...

Re: What’s the latest on Jack Steven?

Pick 33 isnt enough. Stop bying into the agenda that Geelong and the f****** media are creating. Jack Steven is worth a better pick than 33 any day of the week. Yes he is worth more than 33. However he’s 29 years old, overweight, unfit with mental health issues. There is no guarantee next year he w...

Re: Matt Crouch /Dougle Howard

Is Howard better than Logan Austin who we also got from Port from memory? Different. Howard is a dour defender who has now started toback himself in to mark and not just defend. A good replacement for Brown. Austin is more of an attacking defender. A taller Roberton in my eyes. Needs to be stronger...

Re: What is your 2020 vision?

If Ryder is ahead of Marshal as #1 ruck, I’ll eat my hat! He isn’t around the ground. In that sense Marshall is top 5 in the AFL already. Grundy, Goldstein, Gawn, Martin then Marshall. He is in tapwork. Not just numbers of taps but also the work required to ensure the ruckman defends the opposition...

What is your 2020 vision?

Well trade week is upon us. What is your vision for 2020? Here is mine! My Dream Trades would be: Josh Bruce and pick 57 for pick 13 from Western Bulldogs. 13 is just too much for Bruce but they need him big time. Throwing in pick 57 makes it more attractive and justifiable for them. They will pick ...

Re: McCartin

McCartin was a wonderful prospect as a deep tall forward. Really never had to back into packs at TAC level as he was a lead up forward that times his leads perfectly. He also was a wonderful judge of an overhead mark when running to a pack from behind. At St Kilda he had to become a more 360 degree ...
