Re: All Australian Contenders

Marshall has been great, and a MASSIVE improvement this year. But in terms of “Best Ruckman 2019”, well behind the best ruckman in Gawn and Grundy. I would go as far as saying he would be happy with top 5. Steele would be top 5 taggers, and Battle has had a good year, but not AA. Not even favourite ...

Re: Finally got one

To be fair, I think the folks here at SS have not made enough noise about Battle’s nomination, so a second post is fine by me. Stoked for him. Won’t win, but I have been stoked to have him on board since the start. There are already more posts about Ross Lyon’s sacking within 4 hours. Negative news ...

Same.

Jackson Voss & Tyson Milne

Does anyone have any clue how the Father/Son prospects are going?
Tyson Milne
Jackson Voss
I believe they are eligible this year, but haven’t heard much since the end of last year.

Re: Changes v Blues

Brown needs to come in. Carlton play tall in their front half. Maybe he'll replace Acres, who looked injured at the end. Webster is the obvious replacement for Webster. I'd put Marshall in cotton wool for the rest of 2019. He's now our most important player, so why risk further injury for two games...

Jones. Both of them?

No rumour, just a fleeting thought for a minute. Apparently we are having a go at getting Zak Jones from Sydney. Uncontracted, but will need to fork over something via a trade. His brother, Nathan Jones is a Free Agent this year. As far as I am aware, not signed yet. Should we make a play for both? ...

Teams don't want steak knives
Also, if GC want Newnes, he is a free agent. They don’t need to trade for him.
If anyone offers anything worthwhile, Saints won’t match.

Re: According to fox Dunstan wants a two year contract

I think in 2 more seasons he will become a restricted free agent. A couple of good seasons will see his worth and next contract balloon upwards. I think that is why he only wants 2 not 3 or more. As to his value - I personally value him highly. - wins clearance ball - wins contested ball - wins the...

Sounds intriguing.
What dips do you think?
Classic hummous? With a basil pesto for contrast? And maybe a beetroot purée for a splash of colour?

Re: Best Wins Under Richo

Round 18 2014 vs Fremantle. 2nd vs last. We’d lost 11 in a row, yet somehow we came out and blew Freo apart, smashing the premiership fancies by ten goals I remember this one. It was the week Lenny Hayes announcer he was retiring at the end of the season. That was our response. I was secretly hoping...

It is possible.
But not probable.
We would be relying on other teams around the 7-12 Mark to fall over themselves.

Re: Carlisle to play VFL This Week + More Good News

It's good news, but unless King puts in a couple of blinders, I would hold off for a bit longer. There's no need to rush him. Agree. He's at that age where he's not really strong enough to play against men. Pre-season is when young guys hit the weights to build muscle, which he really needs. Senior...

Re: Robbie Young to debut

Is it Indigenous Round? It is, but if you are implying that “that’s the only reason he is playing”, then keep in mind that Ben Long was dropped this week, and he designed our jumper for the week. No, but someone said that Long wouldn't be dropped because he designed the jumper for the Id Round, and...

Re: Bailey Rice - At the crossroads?

Agree with the above Bailey is too bulky and needs to fine down, but if he was ever to get a run it would be this week. Long will be dropped and someone has to come in to replace him and apparently before last week was playing ok in the VFL. Perhaps he is the point of difference we need as he can t...

Re: Aiden Boner

No name jokes please ( :D)....but we should go after this bloke big time IMO. 2nd rounder like Jack Steele would get the deal done. So GWS spends #11 on him in 2017 draft, puts two years development into him then trades him for a 2nd round pick. Why? Is he walking out on them, is he unhappy? Is he ...

Re: Changes vs GWS

Probably just Marshall and Young in for Longer and Lonie. Yep, that would be my guess. I don't think Richo will be looking at doing wholesale changes. Never seems to unless forced to with injuries. It would disturb the team balance too much. We have been playing better when the team plays together.

Re: Saints hunting Adam Tomlinson and Jack Martin

This is a good strategy. Put the early pressure on GWS to sign Tomlinson. Either they keep him and others in the same tier and lose a superstar or two, or lose him and keep superstars like JKelly and Coniglio. Either way, someone gets squeezed out, and St Kilda is looking more and more attractive wi...
