Re: Official AFL trade week thread
One of my boys, a Carltn fan, told me Harry Mackay had signed for them until 2030. I told him the Saints had signed Diddly Squat for the same period.

Port in trouble?
Did Port Power have in effect two players on the ground in the last qtr last night that should not have been there?

Re: Richmond was robbed of 2 points
For me, a 50m penalty should have applied, and Richmond were robbed of 2 points. Earlier umpiring decisions are irrelevant, in any event I thought the decisions favoured Richmond in the 1st half, but helped to kick-start Sydney in the 2nd (aided by poor Richmond discipline, which ultimately cost the...

Re: The coming of the king
There is another King coming, very very soon as we see world events as never before, and his name is King Jesus. He would have each one of us to look up and open our hearts to Him. He is our blessed hope!

2016 Finals: Dogs 79 frees for 48 frees against (incl GF for 20 against 9). So much for what someone said re umpiring does not decide premierships

Re: Deliberate Out of Bounds - is it time?
Two of the blights on footy are the deliberate o-o-b rule and the 50 metre penalty. Get rid of the first and cut the second to 25 metres.

Re: Questions re the existing players
From as much as we can say at this stage (!), that starting 22 sounds good. Perhaps Butler in for Long. Depending on how fit and ready King and Roberton are, starting 18 could include Battle and Willie.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Crows Round 20 2019
Just back from the game. Crows are mediocre, barely a top 8 side, if that. Saints mediocre-er (sic). Crows were there for the taking and we failed.

Re: Margin vs Fruit Tingles
I live in Adelaide. I remember the Saints beat Crows in a mini-league match at the old Footy Park around 25 years ago (my son played in that game) but not much since, and there have been a lot of disastrous performances in that time. Tonight is a real chance against an unsettled team. For once, I fe...

Re: Battle for Acres; Team Selection.
Good lineup for the Saints, not impressed by crows changes, we're in with a chance. Dropping Jenkins means the 3 talls become 2, we can manage that, esp. with Battle as an option back if needed. Let's not kid ourselves, their ruckman O'Brien is really good, both in ruck and around the ground, so the...

Re: Match thread, Port in Shanghai
Gave up watching well before HT. Port were getting goal after goal after our players were being fouled downfield but no free given. Good luck to Port, if you were fouling your opponent and getting away with it, why not keep doing it? And don't start me off about this useless fixture being our Home g...

Re: Changes v Pies
I would consider Longer as main ruck, with Marshall up forward (and 2nd ruck) with Membrey as 3rd tall forward.
Bruce (best game for a long time vs WC), Marshall and Membrey up forward would give us a strong attack.

Re: Changes v Crows
Really need to beat those crows. I live in Adelaide, and the media here are obsessed with them (Port just get token reference). If crows beat us it will be unbearable here. 2 dangers I see. .Went to the crows/Geelong game and Rory Sloane almost singlehandedly lifted them over the line. He is a champ...

Without any new recruits FF : Long Marshall Battle I'd take the g off lon and put in ie. Long yet to prove himself I would suggest. Jury perhaps out on Battle I would say, but hopefully will be good as a 3td tall HF : Gresham Membrey Billings Sounds good! C : Sinclair Acres Ross Sounds good. Hope A...

Re: Ray Delisted
I can only go by what some posters have said, but a few weeks ago he seemed close to selection in the A's. On that basis, surprised by this. Not convinced that we have such a great selection of players coming up, unless we get good new players in then next year will not be much improvement on this, ...

Re: Can anyone remember a more bleak outlook than now ?
Hi All After not signing anyone from last season, the writing was on the wall for this year at least, and I wonder what future the club has other than merging with another. I for one have gone into hibernation as a Saints supporter, it was almost obvious before this season started that Saints would ...

Deliberate out of bounds rule
The deliberate rule comes under scrutiny again after the incident at the end of the Bulldogs/Richmond game. Ok we all recognise the umpires bias towards the Bulldogs (25-13 in favour last night, and contributed in some measure to their flag last year) but that aside, the deliberate rule should be sc...

3 positive factors to consider;
GWS sometimes average on the road;
No Toby Greene. He has transformed into 10 Rory Sloanes when we have played them;
We at last have height in our defence to match their talls.
