Re: Armitage?

Yes, and we hate to wait for Richo in the presser to let us know it was concussion. I was listening to 693 AM radio on the way him from the game. Their interviewer was in the NM rooms after the game interviewing Petrie - fair enough. He was then asked about injuries. He talked about Higgins and Well...

Re: Saints v Kangaroos match thread

Unfortunately, unlike last week, many of the youngsters are not stepping up to support the veterans. Roo, Joey, Gilbo all strong. Need more from Bruce, Membrey, Billings, Lonie, Acres, Minch . Also it looks like they need to practise their set shots from 52- they've had plenty of them.

Re: VFL Rd 5 Sandringham vs Pies Sat 7th -

Stand Alone teams .... Expensive, and as soon as a few injuries hit... They are useless. And that hinders development ... Kids need to developed into winners, with professional habits. You need 6-8 state league gun non listed players who keep the seconds competitive regardless of AFL injuries I agr...

Re: Training

I am fired up for this one too. I will be away for work for the next fortnight after this match ( back in time to see the Freo game, thank goodness ) , so I am hoping for an effort from the boys that will sustain me for that period. It actually is more enjoyable going to the games this year than it ...

Re: Massive Merv from Moorabbin

I remember him too from a stint I had in the cheer squad in the 70s. I see there has been some questioning of the current cheer squad on this forum , but geez it was hard work in those days behind the goals at Windy Hill or Victoria Park or particularly at Carlton ( where Hawthorn also played) , in ...

Pleasing to see NOK named second best for Sandy Development team today in his first game back from injury. Brenton Payne also returned today, though not named in the best .

Re: Next week

For this match we swapped a midfielder ( Acres ) for a tall back ( Lee). ( Membrey for McCartin, and Gresham for Lonie were more like-for-like swaps). For North, with their 3 genuine talls, we need to reverse that. Neither Lee nor Goddard were named in best for Sandy tonight, but based on his game l...

Roo - 3 goals, 24disp, 14 marks. Acres - was everywhere for the most part, stood up in several tackles. Hickey - 2 straight weeks of great performances against top ruckman Membrey - feels weird having a 5 goal guy this low, found his spots well and didn't force anything Sinclair - involvement up th...

Basis Semplas so biased. That was pathetic by Joey. So slow. Yeah the commentary is very annoying. Am muting it for the second half which is a big call as DARCEHOLE isn't on. Good to see the pre game flog fest about Gawn has fizzled. He will fizzle away this season, prolly get injured and we will f...

So all bar Roberton, McCartin , Freeman and Rice selected for the weekend. Does anyone know what the situation is with Bailey Rice?

I disagree. Not all Cameron's goals kicked on him. A very soft free in there as well. Tom Has showed good effort and composure at times. Just had a good stint in the ruck against Mummy. Far from perfect, but not our worst by a long way.

Yes, it's fair to say, we're due a teeny bit of luck in finals. In saying that we should never have lost 1971, 4 goals up in the wet, that game still haunts me, as does 2009, should've put that game to bed before half time except for shocking kicking, toe poke should not have come into it My own tr...

1. Was an emergency for the seniors today. 2. According to VFL website was second best player for Sandy today ( behind Blacres) . 3. Assuming Roberton, Paddy and Roo are all unavailable next week, perhaos Lee ( who apparently did well today ) comes in for Roberton, Membrey in for Paddy ( noting Lee and Membrey were emergencies for the seniors today, so presumably are close to selection) , Gilbert pushes forward as he did in secon...

Re: Billings

A super game today. Four quality quarters. Got 30 disposals, and surely must have had 90% plus efficiency. I was sitting up on the top deck, and from that birds' eye view one can see how he makes smart decisions, and weights his kicks perfectly. A couple of very handy goals as well.
