Re: Pick 18 Jade Gresham
So George27 if Carlton or Sydney said they wanted Gresham for Weitering or Mills would you take the deal. I wouldn't Nor would I . The OP post asked two questions. 1. Where would you rank him now? Answer - IMHO, 4. He is not going to win the Rising Star. He is currently $101. A lot of those ahead o...

Re: Pick 18 Jade Gresham
It is a great topic for us. Clearly he is now way higher than 18. I reckon he would be about 4 - I would have Weitering , Mills and maybe Hipwood ahead of him. After the first two weeks I thought "why is this guy getting a game at this stage ?" . At that point I would have swapped him for ...

Re: Match thread v Blues
I am second row, wing, top deck ,which is a great spot from which to watch the play unfold. Up here it is clear that Gresham will be a star. He makes the right choice just about every time. He finds space in traffic. He executes well. Gun. I am not telling you anything new, but gee he is good to wat...

Full stats available in tweets on Saints website. Holmes and McKenzie did not play , saved as emergencies for seniors. Eli did not play either. Sinclair and Lonie got a lot of it, Freeman did not. He had a possession in the last quarter , so hopefully got through ok.

If any of you were sitting behind the Saints goals and saw a (late ) middle-aged man in an aisle seat stand up on three separate occasions and fling his Saints members hat to the ground in frustration at the umpiring decisions - well , that was me . I honestly do not understand what is going on wit...

Longer, NOK and Coughlan also missing from both Sandy and the Development team, which is disappointing. I was lucky enough to win the draw to represent the Saintsational sponsors of Brandon White at the luncheon at Sandy on Sunday, so Mrs George and I are looking forward to representing you all wit...

Kos I will make a start. Very difficult because blokes who started well faded out. Very few full 4 quarter contributors. Anyway I have spread my 15 votes as follows among 6 players.
4. Riewoldt
3. Acres
3. Weller
2. Ross
2. Roberton
1. Geary.

There is a huge crowd building here. Not surprisingly, Norf fans everywhere. We will need to make a lot of noise, girls and boys.

Re: On the line Saturday night
I think we will all walk into the ground tomorrow with a spring in our step. We deserve to be there. I remember the day in 1978 at Arden Street when we stole the game with a "goal" after the siren by Rob Elliott. I was up that end , behind the goals . The siren sounded and people ran onto ...

Re: Ms Whiney isn't even a Saint
I always thought that annoying bimbo with the whiney voice who yells inanities at us during the breaks was some pestilence heaped upon us by a ponytail in our marketing department. But there she was on Saturday night yelling her high decibel whiney inanities at the Bulldog supporters. So apparently...

And finally what are they doing that is so uplifting on their phones? I looked over the should of one kid and he was playing candy crush. I thought exactly the same thing. Richo second season apparently Wooden spoon last year.. With 4 wins! Some Bloke called Gibson plays for us. Montagna 50 for "verballing" ( in fact it was for failing to throw the ball back ) Yesterday was our 8th win !? Perhaps most of all, Sam Gilbert is ...

Re: Duperouzel interview
George my all time favourite player , hence the "George 27" name I use here. So many brilliant games ( perhaps the best being the 1973 elimination final against Dons, when he had 24 kicks and kicked 6 from the flank). Having said that, he was obviously an outside player, who may or may not...

Re: Duperouzel interview
Didn't both Georgey and Duper make first class hundreds? George indeed got a ton in his last match for WA before coming over the play for the Saints ( he actually then played grade cricket here for Carlton for a season - a sad blight on his sporting career !) . Bruce alas did not make a ton. Cheers.

Re: I guess we will be rooting for Collingwood tonight.
Many years ago I was coming second in the office tipping comp with one round to go. I picked the Pies in the last round , and found myself hating myself for it ( I cannot recall if they won or not, but I didn't catch the competiton leader ). Recognising the depths to which I had fallen, I vowed neve...

Spot on Terry Smith about the Reserves making the GF in 82. Mark Scott played in both reserves and seniors one day that year ( I think a half or less in the reserves ) , to qualify for the reserves finals. He was playing well and deserved a senior spot, so he did both games ! It sounds ridiculous to...

Re: Duperouzel interview
Very good player. I was at the G when he kicked 6 for WA against Vic. Always knew where the goals were. Alas injured a lot. Amazing that both he and George Young played state footy and cricket for WA. It was quite common in years gone by , but I think the last bloke to play both State footy and cric...

As I have noted in another thread, Minchington not picked at all, even though seniors play on Saturday and Sandy on Sunday. Puzzling. At least injury list getting shorter. Curren and Fisher should be back next week, hopefully Paddy too. Webster maybe the week after. That just leaves Hughie and of co...

Meatball has not been named for Sandy. As you say, there is no reason for that. Perhaps the Saints had not worded Sandy up about his omission, or maybe there is an expectation of a late change.saintbrat wrote:atleast they wont miss a game as Sandy play Sunday

Re: Win tomorrow and we are 2 games out of the 8
It is great to be in the conversation. Last night on 360 the lead story was the reopening of the 8, with NM on the slide and Port and us as the legitimate challengers. Accepted as a given that we are entitled to be there, ahead of Rich, Coll, Carl, Melb. Robbo even said he liked our style of footy. ...
