Re: NAB Match Thread v Roos
The trouble we will have this season, as we had last season, will be our midfield can't hurt the opposition by hand or foot, nor break lines and get involved in goal scoring enough. Ross had a good go yesterday, but he is not a damaging mid. I thought our setups at the centre bounces was pretty poo...

Re: Tommy Lee
I thought Lee looked good early. He took a beautiful kick out where he drilled it over the 50 to Paddy who almost marked it - text book stuff. He seems comfortable kicking out as he can pass the ball well. Gave away a goal with a hugely risky kick inboard but thats the learning process. The defence...

Re: NAB Match Thread v Roos
Does anyone else think Hickey lacks any lower body/core strength whatsoever? He seems to get pushed off the ball far too easily for a guy his size. With someone with legs like twigs, you would think he would would be smashing the leg work in the gym, squats etc. It has been an obvious weakness of o...

Re: Can We Win More Than Six Games in 2016?
6 to 8 wins for me. Nothing I saw yesterday makes that target unrealistic. The side we had in meant we were always going to run out of legs. We also rested 3 players from half time. 2 of which are very experienced players. The only people who would be upset with yesterday are those who had unrealist...

Agreed but he could become a very good ruckman otherwise be becomes a very ordinary forward.

Re: NAB Match Thread v Roos
The first half was excellent considering the side we had in. Was just about certain that North would eventually get on top. No need to panic or worry at all. The only people who should be worried are those who thought we could finish top 6. People say we have good depth but that's a myth. We are a 6...

Re: Have we gone with too many small guys?
What's the difference between a 171cm player and a 200cm player kicking a goal? We need to improve speed around the packs and though the middle, and a bunch of gangly gorillas won't give us that. Yes we need different sized players but I'm wondering if there is a size that becomes an issue in terms...

Re: Have we gone with too many small guys?
Size doesn't matter.. It's how you use it Totally agree. The better you use it the more pleasure you give someone. Yes, just so long as they bulk out. There's a bit of a myth about height bringing upon success, when in actuality it's all about having the right girth. Agree. And if you have both siz...

Re: Modern Footy
It raises the meaning of some stats. What is a Carlton clearance worth with some young kid bumbling the ball out that registers as a clearance against Hodge flicking a clean 15m handball to his team-mate that launches a Hawthorn attack with clean air? But it also shows the best coaches are constant...

Re: Have we gone with too many small guys?
Gresham 177cm Lonie 174cm Sinclair 180cm Curren 178cm Minchington 179cm Watching Lonie stand side by side his opponents in the praccy game really drove home what he is up against in terms of his size - he looked like a kid against men. Would we really want to go into a Grand Final with three very s...

Re: Rule Reminder
The thread was crap and most people had made posts that could have got a warning. Doesn't baiting mean that someone is upset? Surely? Was what fiery said upsetting to me? Not even slightly. Couldn't have been less worried. Then we both had some fun in a non footy crap thread. The problem with baiti...

Anyone could see both of us were having some fun. Seriously there is so much more crap on here that what either of us said. Fun is good. Get a humour bone. Isnt his kicking A grade? He is kind of the anti-Gilbo. Nowhere near as athletic as Gilbo but can kick it. It isnt much good doing great things to win the ball then side stepping an opponent, running 20m and kicking it straight to the opposition and then watching the ball go back over you head whil...

I'm concerned we my not win a praccy match. The only issue I have with these games in woop woop is that the grounds are up to standard. I'm pretty confident that the surface in Wangaratta would be significantly better than Etihad Stadium. Etihad is a fantastic surface. Certainly didn't look that wa...
