Re: Will Keeler be the real deal??

Ross, I reckon through his own admission- unless he is that pig-headed Would admit he’s made some mistakes with his handling of certain players I know an ex player who was definitely not a fan - only became a quality player after Ross left. Wouldn't be too hard to work that out, I'd question the qu...

Re: Will Keeler be the real deal??

I agree it comes down to the player himself. The thing I like about Ross is, you have to do the work, but I reckon he doesn't lose sleep after 3 serious injuries or form slumps. He could easily write off Membrey but apparently Members is looking pretty sharp. If he isn't staring by round 6 he could ...

Re: Will Keeler be the real deal??

Paddy R had a genius footy brain. Some of his reading of the play. positioning and opportunism was fantastic and coupled with his great ability won us quite a few matches. I can see why Paddy is referred to as a comparator, however the comparison is a bit stretched at this point, I think. I saw his...

Re: DFC

As a forum mate of mine suggested sometimes its best to leave doubt, where it lies. I'm beginning to come across to that idea. It seems that ignorance can truly take the form of bliss for the uninformed. False outrage goes pretty much hand in hand and may be another form of bliss. What we have here...

Re: Will Keeler be the real deal??

Ross has had plenty of players fail to develop under his coaching, in fact he is notorious for not being a developmental coach (hence the role of Carroll) in days gone by, it’s been reported that he hardly speaks to guys outside the top 26 players - especially if he doesn’t rate them The senior coa...

Re: Will Keeler be the real deal??

Keeler left Port Augusta after year 10 because was an outstanding athlete who was identified at under 13 level and taken into Adelaide's Indigenous Academy and locked away for 5 years. An all round sport and he excelled in Cricket, Basketball and Football. This happened in 2021. Foxfooty.com.au play...

Re: Dan McKenzie

There's also the concept that DMac only appears superior because of where and who he played with. I'm prepared to give Bonner and Mckenzie both clean slates and make an assumption on who is better based on the rest of their careers. Neither are the same player they were anymore. Bonner attacks, Dan ...

Re: Saints milestones in 2024

In fairness to Vortex (not that he needs my support), if memory serves, he’s always been more on the side of the stauncher supporters of Ross. Whilst he’s the butt of the joke here… his first post in this thread I interpreted to be a jape at Deb’s more relentless critics… which on this occasion IMO...

You are on fire Willy Wonka. But sometimes it's best to say nothing and not remove all doubt though. If there's any doubt it about when we can achieve it. We need 2 more goals a week to remove the doubt and 12 months and a big fish CHB to install an undeniable level of condfidence. I seem to rememb...

Rozee, Sinn, Butters, Boak, Wines, Horne-Francis, Charleson, Drew, Lorenz and Jackson
Might have something to do with it.

That a and few upgraded and overpriced talls might have tightened the TPP belt a little.

Re: Top 5 goal kickers for the Saints in 2024 (Best case scenario)

Here's the set shots goal kicking accuracy data from 2012. This was not DOS's work but he clearly inspired it and Hawthorn exploited it with a very accurate, tough and long kicking list. https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Set-shot-goal-kicking-accuracy-relative-to-ground-location_fig2_325662079#:~:...

Top 15 goal kickers would be better 70 King 45 Snags 20 Membrey 20 Owens 15 Butler 15 Wilson 15 Marshall 15 Hammer 12 Sharman 12 Steele 12 Pou 12 Wood 10 Bonner 10 Henry 10 Collard Provided injury doesn't reduce our flexibilities and force us play all our kids again, we could kick 300+ goals, an min...

Re: Top 5 goal kickers for the Saints in 2024 (Best case scenario)

Its nice to have an interesting knowledge-base to discuss though. DOS and Lyon must have gotten past the honeymoon and its clear that Lyon's old boss from Sydney was a believer. DOS probably has a very well educated opinion and can translate the data in situ. DOS will be finding data that supports t...

Somewhere between Billy Longer and Lewis Pierce Heath is significantly better playing forward than any other young ruckman we have had on the list, possibly matching Marshall in that regard. Marshall has the advantage of being a great aerobic r...

This post is about McKenzie. Why is there a communal w..k about Hill and Billings? McKenzie is training at Fremantle and looking sharp. Hope he doesn’t come back to bite us. The relative factor is that Billings, Hill and Dmac all got injuries at their last club. One of them got a massive contract a...
