Gosh we were good

Just watching the Rd5 2004 clash against Adelaide over there. Our tackling was nothing short of ferocious. The commitment and backing of each other was seomething else. Toughness- There was no Hamill or Baker playing in this match but the likes of Powell, Guerra, Thompson, Black, Voss. This is somet...

X at his best is very good player that can play back, forward or if needed in the midfield. He is lacking confidence at present along with three quarters of the side.

Not sure about amazing job in recruiting and injecting youth and also we have hardly had an injury this year but I do agree with the idea of giving players some freedom just not sure how easy it is to do in a week. Yeah, a bit carried away. I still believe our list has improved under Lyon and that ...

From my point of view, as you are aware, Ross has done some amazing and much needed changes in both recruiting established players and injecting the all important youth factor. As a coach the jury still has to be out. Pre Season we thought that top 4 was definitely in reach. It seems very far away a...

3 Weeks Till Bakes

Not that it would have been the difference but Bakes ability to hard tag a Cooney or West would have been invaluable tonight. L Fisher in all respect is no tagger. Like Brian Lake I believe that Bakes has also had a name change and is now known as Steven Goodes. Kev Rudd has already apologised for h...

What about allowing a team like the doggies to generate all their run out of the back line.

Manning up would not hurt. You can try your zone defences and you can try coralling the opposition but if it does not work then bloody well man up!

Many years ago at Moorabbin a Geoff Fidler(36) for the Saints turned around and basically B.... slapped David Rhys Jones. My memory is hazy but I am sure it was Jones. Jones was stunned, not by the force but the audacity of the bloke who was 70kg Ringing wet. Does anyone else remember the incident o...

Sainters Bloody Sainters I can't believe the result today Can't close my eyes and make it go away How long? how long must we sing this song? How long? how long? 'Cause tonight we just won the NAB cup - tonight Broken coaches under supporters feet Years of turmoil and years of defeat But I won't heed...

Back to the facts. Harv's made two obvious errors on the night. 1) A kick to the centre where he was blind sided when he went to play on 2) A Dropped ball (when he went to kick) out of the back line which he recovered from. The second error made me laugh because Peverill did exactly the same thing b...

Well that was odd... Originally I faxed my SC membership application through. I called a couple of weeks later to double-check it got through. 75 Logo was a classic.

I remember thinking it was cool at the time but now it summed us up pretty well for the era, big neanderthal with "where did it go look on the face"

Good Post Backit. In the end we are in it through thick and thin. I have felt, as a member that the club was at times unwilling to try and help. Palming problems to other entities such as the AFL or Telstra Dome. Even if they could not help all you want from them as a club is too understand and try ...

I don't think our draft picks have been all that bad. Sam Fish, Leigh Fish, Joey and others have not been first round. Generally your first round picks are the foundations which you can build a team. Saints were very lucky with Roo, Kosi, BJ, Ball, and Dal being high end draft picks all very close i...

He played last night for Geelong.

Tom Harley shows both on and off the field exactly what a captain is.

To me the closest we have is Lenny closely followed by Luke Ball.

I don't know about you Saintbrat but my gut feeling is that Butterrs is going down all legal avenues to try and stop the SFF ticket. If that is the case it will get very ugly and possibly soul destroying for the club.

From Saints Website "In the view of a majority of the Board, this was a mischievous attempt to unfairly limit the preparation of a proper response to members. The Club has received strong advice that John Gdanski’s second notice is invalid on a number of counts, including the limited notice p...
