Re: Tears of joy for Matthew Parker after St Kilda offer a draft lifeline
Newnes has proven to be a very durable footballer over his career. He is a bloke that can play a full 22 games of footy a year as proven by his career. You just don't delist blokes like that overnight. Part of the battle of list management is having guys on your list that can play all year. Newnes ...

Re: St Kilda has pinned its faith on four mature-aged recruits leading into 2019
It's not the deciding factor at all for other clubs
But as far as the Saints go, we had a female run psychology test where only 'nice guys' passed.
Petracca for example, failed this. He was considered too arrogant... absurd

Re: St Kilda has pinned its faith on four mature-aged recruits leading into 2019
I will take ability any day. Character is over rated As Nathan Burke wrote in an article recently... "Who would you rather have in your team; the self-starter with leadership qualities or the kid who needs to be spoon-fed? I know which player I would prefer on my list. Having future draftees u...

Re: Tears of joy for Matthew Parker after St Kilda offer a draft lifeline
I believe that this guy could be the next dusty. He has a similar way of moving, pace, and demeanor. I feel from hearing him talk that he will give it everything he's got. All he needs is opportunities from <edited by mods>...but in this I fear, that all opportunities will continue to be given to N...

Re: St Kilda has pinned its faith on four mature-aged recruits leading into 2019
St Kilda drafting genius. That would be squandering a No1 draft selection on an undersized tall forward with type 1 diabetes guaranteed to ensure he would never be an elite mover. Completely agree with you. The trout Elshaug era brought this club to its knees. My prediction is Paddy will be gone so...

Re: St Kilda has pinned its faith on four mature-aged recruits leading into 2019
"Pinned their hopes" ... what a complete pile of absolute bullsh*t! I believe that this is drafting genius at its best. 2 talented kids, and 4 young men with serious pace and fierceness.... just watch their highlights. If Richo actually gives them an opportunity, the Saints will be a force...

Not just that - you can tell just from looking at their faces that they have mongrel....which is exactly what the Saints have been missing under Trout Elshaug's "good kid from a good family" bullsh*t regime

Re: Rate our draft
IMO I rate this draft highly - 9/10 The Saints were one of the poorest clubs last year in terms of pace and run. Young, Parker and Hind all have electric pace, which is super exciting, while Bytel looks to be a super solid inside footballer. The days of Trout Elshaug's "good kid from a good fam...

Re: Final Thoughts ahead of the Draft
Take Pick 4 to the draft and try to select our next Cazaly, Mohr, Baldock, Ditterich, Barker, Lockett, Winmar or Riewoldt. Despite having a lot of high picks this past six years, apart from Gresham and quite possibly Long (yes, I really rate him that high), we haven't grabbed that real elite A+ dra...

We don't need yet another tall with a severe injury or health issue
We need a midfielder with pace and skill - bring on Bailey Smith!

Another key forward??
Why the hell is McCartin still on the list then?
The Saints need speedy skilled mids...end of story

Re: Final Thoughts ahead of the Draft
Personally I think it will go... 1. Walsh to Carlton 2. Luko to GC 3. Max King to GC Pause for 5 agonizing minutes as Port haggle with us over picks 10 and 15.... Then, 4. Rankine to PA 5. Ben King to GC 6. Blakely to Swans 7. Smith to Saints 8. Caldwell to Dogs 9. Rozee to Adelaide And depending o...

Re: Minchington signed by Hawks
Just because the Hawks were the only ones willing to give Minch a very slim lifeline, Minch is now all of a sudden some kind of superstar with massive potential and the club made a really bad decision to cut him. Ok.......people will find anything to place a negative on the club and list management...

Re: Minchington signed by Hawks
In the meantime th club are hanging on to Richo and Sexton because.....you never know....they might come good..... hahahahahahahahah Minch was fully fit; playing at a high level at Sandringham and clearly didn't get the opportunities that he deserved in 2016-2107. He is now being tainted by Mr posi...

Re: Who do we select with pick 4? POLL
Rankine looks great, but will return to South Australia in the near future IMO.
I think Smith is more of a mid that we need, who can break the lines in 'Judd' like fashion - I believe he will be a star, and we should take him
The fact that he is Victorian is a huge plus as well

wow this is a multi ended stick!... You speak in circles, going absolutely nowhere, in some kind of arrogant attempt to occupy the throne of the great arbiter of truth. Truth is we finished 3rd bottom, with a piss poor list and coach. Oh great arbiter, please wield your multi ended stick of truth, a...

Re: Is this our best 22.
People are familiar with Alan Richardson, right? He's going to pick every old bloke available to him until the team is out of finals contention. Then he'll select every old bloke available to him until he's fired at the end of 2020 (if we can't find him another extension). He's not trying to win, h...

Re: Why False Optimism Is Demented And Dangerous
The club has gotten rid of about 1/5 of the playing list and most of the senior coaches this off-season. They are clearly doing something about a problem, so why can't people be optimistic about it? Should we continue to bag the club even as they make changes? You can't be serious. The only player ...
