Re: Sharks are Circling

But in response i would say: your point 1 - AFL do these things for revenue before anything else. imho. Probably right. However considering clubs generate revenue through alcoholism and gambling - I don't know why people would draw the line generating revenue via a social issue? The Saints have bee...

Re: Sharks are Circling

The great thing about footy is that is a real uniting leveller and a neutral environment. We all turn up, Rich poor, black, white, muslim, Christian to barrack for our team and forget about the day to day grind. Start introducing politics or push a politic agenda and you will create bigger issues. ...

Re: Sharks are Circling

Are people still getting upset over the Pride Game and non-gender specific toilets? Really? Why? I think that's the least of our concerns right now. You would have thought so but it seems like it's set the sharks off and they're now circling. My take: OP says the Gay pride game was the tipping poin...

In 8 years of being in this site I have been a solid 100 gamer type, relatively conservative, giving my opinion but not wanting to upset anyone as you are all comrades in my eyes. Through work and various circles I find out things and at times I have not shared it on here not wanting to create issu...

Gotta love the internet. Well I hope your wishes for a bloodletting of the club are denied until such time as a proper argument can be presented for justification of a bloodletting. I reckon any attempt at a coup would more than likely be met with the same ridicule and slap-down as that shown towar...

Re: Hickey dominated Nic Nat

I'd suggest Hickey has had his card marked DCM and unless all other ruck options are injured and is unlikely to not play again this year if there is an option. Running off the ground as he did was career ending stuff if there needed any exclamation point. Someone in recruiting must surely be drawin...

I like the idea. Its innovative. Split the coaching role with a senior mentor, leadership, personal development component then a pure footy component. WOuld need to be able to work closely though

Re: McCartin V McCartin

.....and while we're on the subject, Petracca is proving to be a very ordinary footballer. If we had selected him at #1 we'd be very disappointed. Quite frankly I wouldn't be surprised if he was dropped by Melbourne. Yes indeed, like many of the Melbourne team, flat track bully!!!!! Overrated on he...

Billings will not get a better opportunity than this week against the weakest team in the competition. Coming off 53 possessions and will probably get to play on someone who has less ability than him. I will laugh my box off if Richo decides to leave Billings in the magoos for one more game...... +...

West Coasts rise to the top can be largely attributed to Sam Mitchel. Was a great player with a great footy brain I can see a lot of Sam in the way West coast go about it MITCHELL FOR COACH! I dont think replacing the coach will in itself make much difference, but thats not to say it wont happen. B...

Re: Has Richo lost the players?

It certainly looked like it in the first quarter. Probably unfair to single out one player as there was plenty of examples, but Jack Steven looked disinterested tonight. He is the heartbeat of our side - chasing, running, tackling. But tonight he wasn't running and chasing. Several times his oppone...

Re: This is the most hopeless stkilda team I have ever see

We were so much worse in the 80's. Oh my goodness we were worse. Correct. One year we lost three in a row by 100+ This ain’t nothing compared to early-mid 80s. The thing is that even in the dark years of the eighties, the saints stood for something, atleast we had some hard nuts that had a go and a...

Re: Disgusted to see Steele having to play in the ruck

Hickeys game tonight was reminiscent of his infamous essendon game last year. Other than ruck contests he simply didnt compete and looked to make no effort. A number of times he just stood flat footed and watched others in marking contests, case in point, look at the Swans third goal as an example. ...

Regardless if its the right or wrong call, the club will be forced to make a statement and thats usually the coach. Football clubs are either in premiership contention or they sell hope, and we have neither. Its sad, but the loss of faith by members and sponsors has been evident for a number of mont...

Wonder if Roo is interested in being an assistant? Please no. I had enough of his back-seat driving the last few years - hate to think how he'd arc up given one of the reins. Now Robbo on the other hand might be interested - and interesting. Good point look how we've thrived this year without his '...

As I've said many times, developing players is a totally different kettle of fish when you have a good senior group around them. They do. We don't. Do you mean "good" as in strictly footy skills / ability? Good question. In my opinion, it is guys who can teach and support younger players ...

I compare to Melbourne because most posters talk about McCartin vs Petracca. If McCartin was the most dominant forward in the country I would have hated to see the rest, he doesnt even have a natural kicking action which would give him accuracy and distance. Who are you trying to kid? I would have ...

Bunch of fools....wasting membership money. Bains/Pelchen have gone, just need Elshaugh to go and we can start fresh by hiring the best recruiter in the land. I heard we have spent 900k on Freeman, use that money going forward on recruiting, we would get better value. But really I dont have much fa...
