Re: Pies are well ...beatable .
In the first QTR, I was impressed with their leg speed. Made me think RTB, might roll the dice with Peris next week.

Re: Changes Rnd 3
Assuming Bytel is fit, it would be a concern for his career if he isn't seen as a logical replacement for Steele as an inside mid.
Would like to see if he can make the grade.

Re: Rate Ryan Byrnes’ game!
Dunstan unfairly maligned? He was a butcher - horrible technique - kicked scrubbers Byrnes Easily a better kick, does kick running at high speed a bit. Not that easy. Yep, very unfairly. I've seen Dunstan hit King on the lead running thru the middle 50m lace out. I haven't seen Byrnes do anything l...

His leadership qualities will be invaluable. 5 years at $ 800k sounds about right ,![😜](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f61c.svg)

Re: Jack Bytel
Excellent inside work, beautiful hands. I still noticed on a few occasions he was happy to jog rather than sprint to do something defensively. If he can satisfy RTB with his spread and defensive effort, he could be an important cog in the midfield. I keep coming back to, who does he replace as an in...

Re: Match SIM squad & Match Thread v Melbourne 24/02/23
Do we play Battle with Sharman and Carminati, forward they all bring something Battle is very strong and has played forward before Carminati is a great mark as is Sharman and have smalls all around them to get crumbs. Down back KPP cordy and Dougal with van es in the back pocket instead of webster ...

It does a bit. But it's quicker than saying he played well ran to go spots, got plenty of it, but his career will stop because when he disposed of it, he coughs it or helicopter bombs it

Re: Match SIM squad & Match Thread v Melbourne 24/02/23
Hard to take too much from the result. Some were going at 3/4 pace, probably under instruction to limit injury. Zero pressure in first few qtrs. No forward line, lots of positional experimenting . No real surprises with the senior players, they just do what they have done. I spent more time looking ...

Re: Training
I have seen van es at training a few times and last week was the best I think he has been playing as a forward which I really think where he should play. He is a elite runner, and has a great vertical but needs to loose a bit at 197cm he is 98kg the club has said he should loose a few kg and be mor...

Re: Lockett 🆚 Dunstall
Hands down plugger by some margin. I think what gets forgotten is that back in the 80's, only two or 3 games were televised each week, and as the Saints were not a top team, we weren't televised as much. Most non Saints fans just didn't get to see as much of Pluggers games in the Moorabbin days.

Re: Best Available 22 Rnd 1
Obviously we know some injuries and there will be more but what does round 1 look like then? Obviously the unseen players are a huge question mark so they are obviously a guess, probably as is the rest if truth be told. Here is my guess, what do others look like? B: Paton, Howard, Wilkie HB: Coffie...

Re: Any News on our new List manager!!
If he gets a game, it's because he is ahead of them . What if he is better? Do we never recuit rookies who may or may not be better than what we got ever again? He has only been offered a list spot- no guarantee of games What have either of Byrnes or Bytel done that makes them a better prospect?. B...

Re: Training- Friday January 27
Mike, how is Highmore going? Probably has the best judgement of the ball in flight (along with Wilkie) and cleanest hands in the club. Shame he isn’t 198cm. Could he fill a role forward this season given our lack of depth in that area and his ability to catch it? I like Tommy Highmore but he maybe ...

Re: Any News on our new List manager!!
So what you are saying is Byrnes and Bytel are in their last year based on what they have done so far? But let's not recruit a bloke for FREE cause he might be better and get a game ahead of them? Remember- stocker has only been given an opportunity to win a spot, no guarantees. If he is no good he ...

Re: Any News on our new List manager!!
You know there are jobs for the boys... just have to look for them. I am just writing off Bassat now. Just another in a long list of whatevers... Pies stuffed up their list royally and the one good move was to get Craig McRae. Saints did well to get Ross, but Silvagni is a liability.. if for nothin...

Re: Myth on Hunter Clark pure nonsense
I’m going to stay optimistic with Clark and Coffield. If they can show their full potential this year it will be huge for our chances of making the finals. Coffield will miss a few games at the start with that hammy. I think Hunter looks strong so I don't think his physique is an issue. I worry mor...

ok seems we have a few on here now that go to training. Please enlighten me as to where you think our skill levels sit overall ? On a scale of 1 to 10, my guess is about 7-8 Sounds about right. But the really good sides can execute under extreme pressure. Will be interesting to see how we go agains...

Re: Training today
Someone's behaving after a smack. Good to see. Training seems to be going well. Still some concerns, forward line is a big concern, foot skills just as big, and the ruck rests on one mans shoulder because there is no one even close to being able to share the duties. Add max plus either Campbell or ...

Re: Is Lyon mark 2 the right fit for the saints
Personally think Ross gets a pass for 2023 as he sets things up for a sustainable future. Cannot fault anything Bassett or the club has done post the 2022 review. Everything from personnel, marketing to recruiting has been hard edged- Brutal maybe, but he has acted big time. Btw , I don't accept the...
