Re: Nathan Brown

The main criticism I've heard is he doesn't offer much outside of stopping power. No offensive side to his game. Not sure how that will go in the modern game where versatility is key, but I don't mind us giving him a go as a bit of depth.

Re: Best win of 2016 ( afl)

Doggies comeback game for me. It was so unexpected and joyous. Steven running amok, Armo providing lots of outside run and line breaking, Rooey still dominating, Hickey standing up - it looked like anything was possible and gave great belief to the players Comeback game? Geelong game for me. Specia...

Our side's rank according to AFL.com.au

Defence - 9th
Midfield - 10th
Forwards - 9th

Feel like we have been underrated in the forward department. We would have one of the toughest forward lines in the league to cover with Paddy, Bruce, Mav, Membrey all fit and firing.

I would put us above Port and Geelong at least.

Re: Third man up gone

3rd man up was quite often used to clear congestion around the stoppage. I can see there being multiple stoppages in a row next year being unable to be cleared. AFL's belief is that the effect is negligible at best: "We did analysis across 2015 and 2016 and, for the game's sake, there seems to...

Aren't we one of the best teams at employing this tactic? Riewoldt and one other player (whose name escapes me) are both in the top 5 in the AFL for 3rd man up hit outs. Correct, we are one of the biggest users of third man up. Can't find the per-team stats now, but here's the player stats from 201...

I remember being quite shocked at the time that we were trading McEvoy. In retrospect I think we made an excellent move, allowing Hickey and Longer to step into that role and be just as handy. Also how good has the Mav Weller pickup been? Must be one of the few times a player has gone from the rooki...
