Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
Would be great if Schneider is ready to come in - need some class and goal scoring. After that I think Watters has his own logic about which youngsters come in.

Re: Time for the rotational captaincy?
I'm trying to remember how it worked. Didn't we have three captains at one stage? I think Lenny got it for first year - I remember a bit of controversy when he handed the arm band over to Rooey the next year - I think? What about rotating captaincy over say 3 games? Could start by giving it to some ...

Not his biggest fan. But after seeing what happened in the Geelong game we do need some of these more experienced guys to stick around to stop us becoming Melbourne.

Re: Saints in the paper again!
Just heard Westaway 'interviewed' on his way into the club... said he was going in to find out what's going on and that he didn't know much/anything about it. Seems the AFL don't know anything/much either.... maybe Saad didn't even know? Good work ASADA, leaking like a sieve. The leak began when Ah...

Something positive. Very good. Like how they are handling the youngsters and they are obviously bonding with each other. Bodes well.

Re: A "positive" from Saturday night.
Interesting if this is a road they are indeed going down. I like them trying to innovate and find ways to get an edge. Some things will work, others won't. I want more lefties at the club - they often seem to have a more piercing kick.

Re: Podsiadly elbow to Jack
How was Motlop not reported?. That's tripping plain and simple. So you can do that now - when a player runs past grab his leg and try and get him injured? Didn't even get a free. Unbelievable how much the umpires love Geelong.

Re: Stats From Saturday Night
Brutal. 15 straight? Jesus. I think Watters got ahead of himself. Strong performances against Freo and Port got the idea into his head that we can match it with anyone and that we should go head to head with the Cats. Needs to be realistic and teach the players some more "negative" tactics...

Re: Are we definitely looking at getting pick 1 (Boyd)?
I suppose what makes people lick their lips is the thought of having a hulking CHF getting the job done in a grand final for St Kilda. As brilliant as Rooey was he didn't have great grand finals (prelims yes). Although that could also be due to our one-dimensional forward line where they triple team...

Re: Need to learn to take the heat out of the game
True, Geelong did a phenomenal press all over the ground - fired up after their loss to Adelaide and the injured footballer. I thought Watters panicked a bit by flooding their fwd 50. With Rooey injured we had virtually no fwd structure to kick to - when I saw them bomb it to Milne who had 2 cats pl...

Re: Rhys on the table
His flaw is that his reactions are so slow. The Geelong player who ran around him in the 1st qtr while he didn't even know what was happening. In packs he just looks lost "whats happening, where's the ball, where should I run to?". Up forward its more straight forward for him "Me see ...

Need to learn to take the heat out of the game
Last night was a great example of a big flaw with the young Saints at the moment. 8 goals straight in the 2nd qtr to Geelong! When it starts going against you like that they need to calm it down. Little passes taking marks and going back over the mark and taking as much time as possible. Go backward...

Re: Kicking is a disgrace...
It's been a pet hate of mine towards the Saints recruiters for a long time now. It's called "foot"ball. Why do we continually recruit poor kicks  Kicking is the first and easiest signal of a player's ability, yet our recruiters "continually" overlook it......... or is it t...

Re: Sign up Watters to 2016
It's impossible to rate Watters as a coach due to the crap list he inherited from Lyin.. Watters has to waste his coaching career trying to rebuild a competitive team for the St Kilda football club. chances are he'll get the empty once the turnaround is obvious.. very unlucky in his timing for a se...

Re: Are we definitely looking at getting pick 1 (Boyd)?
A couple of interesting games next week: GWS v Melb Bris v St K Running through the last few rounds, I can't see us winning more than one game. The Dogs have an okay run and Melbourne too. Looks like it's pick 3 for sure, maybe pick two. I'd be surprised if GWS took Boyd but I can't see Melbourne p...

Re: Silver Lining
Also positive that believe or not, we we're actually two goals up twice during tonight's game. Good point 3gs. Upto qtr time we outplayed the possible premiership favourites at their home ground in hardness at the footy, getting numbers to the contest and running forward. Where it is still collapsi...

Re: End of year changes I'd like to see.
McEvoy was very disappointing tonight. Didn't seem to run well at all - maybe injured. Stanley just can't seem to make an impact - his reactions seem to slow. I still think he might develop. Farren Rays big problem has been he never uses the ball well - just completely ineffectual. We can't lose Gwi...

Re: OFFICIAL GAME THREAD v Geelong !!
Very disappointing. None of the young players have the ability to change the momentum when it starts to go pear shaped - excepting Jack Stephen who at least tried to take the game on. Take solace that Geelong were exceptional. The pressure everywhere was immense. Didn't have one easy ball after qtr ...

disappointing but his knee's must be rooted from the long leads followed by heavy falls to the ground thanks to the hospital passes he is always on the end of . If we had a couple of mid-fielders who could actually put the ball on his chest he may have allot lease stress on his knee's ! How often d...

Re: What a suprise. Cheats.
The reality is umpires have an unconscious bias to teams higher up the ladder (in their head they are a better team). How many games did you walk away from when we were at the top and think we got dudded in frees? Not many and other teams complained a lot. That is also to do with the players being f...

In his defense he did do some big spoils last night. Being taught to be the defense/attack swingman is clearly confusing him but this is the time for experimentation and development.
