Re: what a waste
Beside being a GOLD Saints member I also joined GWS (as a Canberra resident keen to support them bringing AFL games here). I renewed that membership for 2015 at the last GWS game in Canberra back in August v Power, and they through in a travel rug for the early renewal! Not aware of other clubs but ...

Re: Rd 20- Members/ Lenny Game- Or any round between now and
Anyone know if the club will announce a game to officially farewell our great man? I'm in Canberra but will definitely attend such a game, just trying to work out whether it's the last home game, Round 20 v Dogs, or round 22 v Tigers at G (last game in Melbourne). Need to make travel arrangements (w...

Re: Eli
Not bad for a kid overlooked in the draft but then picked up as a rookie, then elevated to senior list before round 1. Wonder how #3 draft pick Jack Billings feels about being overlooked for a rookie draft pick? After they play similar roles and it's not as if Eli has a sttronger body!

Re: To anyone who doesn't want to renew their membership ...
You do sometimes ask yourself "why do I put myself through the agony of supporting the Saints?" And I wrote a couple of emails in the past few weeks asking the club why, in the face of what appeared to be discontent, and some questionable list management decisions,I should renew my (long-t...

Re: Agree or disagree on McEvoy trade
Disagree in strongest possible terms. I have no faith in our list management Ben was a No. 9 draft pick whon the club has put 6-7 years into and he repaid the club in the past 3-4 years. Not the star we all hoped he might be, but a solid, reliable performer to the point I would think him the front...

Re: Email from Chris Pelchen to Members
Appreciate the adice from him but I remain unconvinced. It's all well to have a bundle of top 20 draft picks but it's what you do with them that counts. Our first round choices over the last few years have in the main been spectacularly unsuccesful. One exception, who played good solid football, gre...

Re: Nicky Dal
NDS has been great for us for a long time and been a class player but now looks disinterested. Clearly the case last week against Swans, just going through the motions, and of little trade value I would think, unless someone thinks they can reignite him. Would like him to finish with Saints though, ...

Re: Dermott's love for watters
Would like to see some emotion at times. Yeah he may be calm and collected but would rather see some mongrel occasionally like the Scott brothers and Clarko - bang a window, smash a door would show mme he's got some passion and fire!

Re: If we can't get Boyd...should we go for Patton?
Not giving up McEvoy. And leave us with Hickey and Stanley in ruck (Pierce is years away if ever) - dont think so. We have learned the lesson about what happens with no main ruckman. And besides Ben still stands out as next captain, mainly because who else?

Re: another father son?
What's with all the girls? I think Plugger and Spud have 4 each, Burkey 3 and Harves 2 (did have Connor who has been at Saints this week) Now these 2, we really have got next to nothing out of the father-son rule. Maybe Barks fathered some boys we are not aware of?

Re: AFL Hall of fame tonight
Was there, great night but lack of any Saints inductees very disappointing (especially given some who were on the night). Not much Saints representation at all in fact, saw Big Carl and heard Rossy Smith was there, that was all I was aware of. We've had very little team success over the years (that'...

Re: Jackson Ferguson
Agree. Yeah he had a shocker but we need a monster backman, he fits that bill. Deserved his opportunity and I think deserves another go, especially with Eagles big forwards. We are now in the position where these younger players have to get a decent opportunity. Will check him out again at Windy Hil...

Re: F*** Saad off
Whatever is said about Saad, and he did have a shocker, please don't replace him with TDL. Why TDL was recruited is beyond me, Watters must have seen something at Subiaco that TDL hasn't shown at Swans or Saints. He's a gun at state league level (have seen him in Canberra in NEAFL) but far too soft ...

Re: Changes vs the Weagles
We must honour those that are best performers at ressie's level. Lee has been our best tall forward. Ledger has been dominating and Curren I just did a thread on....Those Three must come in. All young and have the opportunity to be part of our future. In: Ledger, Lee & Curren Out: Ferg, Hickey ...

Re: Tom Lynch
Another one starved of opportunities by Ross Lyin who played for the present, no eye on future at all. Lynch obviously not a first round pick cos he was a dud, Johnny Beveridge is better than that. The kid grew up as a Saints supporter but of course he left when he couldn't get a game ahead of has b...

Re: Why are Port so good? Can we learn from them ?
Remember Saints rejected Ken Hinkley as coach, preferring Watters. Weren't the only ones to reject Hinkley but they should have had inside info on him from when he was assistant to Blight. That probaby cost him.......pity!

Re: 2013 retirements
Not Lenny please. Can't bear the thought of Saints without him. I know he doesn't have Brownlows and B&Fs that others like Harves, Plugger, Stewart etc won, but I consider him the greatest Saint of all. Just epitomises all that we want from the Saints - heart (even with his problems), discipline...

Thanks Saintbrat got all excited till I checked my roster - start work at 1pm on Friday! Indicative of Saints luck so far this season? Is that a migraine I feel coming? But I will be 100% on Saturday. Might cop some stick wearing my Saints gear in the GWS members seating but trust I will get the las...
